Very excited for the game tonight. Boll went after Manning last game, so there might be something brewing. #23 should be feeling pretty good after the NYI game, so hopefully his confidence will carry over to Columbus.

I would arguably say that the Manning-Gudas pairing have been overall the most consistent of the duos the past several games. Everyone has made mistakes, but those two seem to be clicking fairly well.

Incorrect. Did you already forget a few games ago when they were out for like every goal against? Or how they can't move the puck? Or how Manning gives up at least 2 odd man rushes every game after making a half-assed pinch?

Stolie for me tonight quite easily, and hope Bolts beat the Wings.

Then Mase gets the next 4, Stolie the Sens, and back to Mase for Pens and Wings.
Stolie gets the Laffs and Mase the final 2 vs Pens and Isles.

is it just me or is anyone else getting the feeling of a real rough game? CBJ is gonna play Philly hard and try to get them off their game and I keep thinking its going to be penalty filled

Mason is coming off one of the best starts of his career; looks to be completely dialed in. You absolutely start him in a winnable game against Colombus. Stolarz should get the start against the Avs.

Why would you play Stolarz against them when Mason would have had two days rest?

The way I see it in Hak's view

- Start Mason because he is the hot hand besides knowing his downfall in back-to-back games. They're fighting for the playoff spot and he is the legit #1 starter.

- Start Stolarz because of Mason's history of back-to-back games, plus giving him a rest. Also CBJ is a bottom feeding team which would be a great start for Stollie's first NHL career game.

I think Hak would get more criticism for starting Stolarz over Mason because if they lose he can get blamed for not using his starter. If he starts Mase and they lose he can simply say he is the starter and played a great game against the NYI while they're in the midst of a playoff position race. Back-to-back games are part of the starting goaltender role. Esp, when you need to step up and play great for your team.

Personally, I start Stolarz and expect the leaders of this team to step up and produce on offense instead of relying on our defense/goaltending in our own end.

So Brandon, does this mean you are dropping the gloves tonight or our playoff chances?

There are times when you look at the schedule and determine which are the winnable games and which are merely hopeful outcomes. Colorado are also fighting for their playoff lives; they're getting healthier and that won't be an easy game at all. In fact, I fully expect a loss in that one. Stolarz, at this point in the season, is a placeholder and not our potential goalie of the future. His confidence and development isn't going to be stunted by one loss in Denver. I'd rather rest Mason who, let's be honest, has a history of wearing down by year's end and saving him for the winnable games in the subsequent set of games.

Start Mason tonight and Thursday against the Avs.
Arizona would be the game I would think about starting Stolarz in.

Really don't like starting him two nights in a row, both because it's risky and because he's usually not looked too good in the past when playing both games in a back-to-back.

I'd rather see Stolarz start tonight and then Mason can start the next 7 for all I care. At least none of them are back-to-backs. Then Stolarz can start the 8th game, which is the day after the 7th and against the Leafs.

Does anyone know if a minute of silence due to terrorist attacks in Brussels is expected tonight? I would think so. We are witnessing really terrible times around the world.

But tonight is another big game, go Flyers.

The Blue Jackets' lines have yet to be made public but from speculation of a beat writer:

http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/blogs/puck-rakers/2016/03/a.m.-73-philadelphia.html

The Blue Jackets expect center Alexander Wennberg back after missing Sunday's game with a lower-body injury. However, captain Nick Foligno was not at the rink this morning due to illness and is considered questionable for tonight.

"I'm not sure what's going to happen with our lineup," Tortorella said. "We going to see what happens with him throughout the day."

Tortorella said he wants to keep Boone Jenner, now playing center, on a line with Cam Atkinson, and he wants to keep Alexander Wennberg with Oliver Bjorkstrand together. That's "Jens with Cam and Borky with Wenny," in Tortorella-speak.

Here's a guess at lines:

F1: Scott Hartnell - Brandon Dubinsky - Rene Bourque

F2: Brandon Saad - Boone Jenner - Cam Atkinson

F3: Matt Calvert - Alexander Wennberg - Oliver Bjorkstrand

F4: William Karlsson - Michael Chaput - Jared Boll

And the pairs:

D1: Ryan Murray - Dalton Prout

D2: David Savard - Seth Jones

D3: Fedor Tyutin - Cody Goloubef
