I think putting a on 2LW for Seattle was a bold move, because I normally see a at 2C...that said, I actually think a is more suited for 2C than a is for 2LW.

I don't think this is necessarily true. First, I don't know if Verbeek has specifically used the phrase "long-term" when discussing Zegras at center, but that was always my impression. Second, I don't think what happens over the next several weeks is indicative of anything other than the Ducks just trying to get guys some additional development before this nightmare of a season ends. Center is harder than wing - if Zegras can be used as either, that's only a benefit for him and the team moving forward.

Lastly, I think we want the head coach making the day-to-day lineup decisions, so I see it as a good sign that Cronin feels he can deviate from Verbeek's long-term plans on any given night to do what's best for the team that day. I think that's healthy.

Could be a comfortability thing. Its also 3rd line so easing him back in. Could also be that due to them being out of the playoffs, they are in an exploratory period, so Cronin is just trying to see what works, what doesnt, who is better where, etc, etc.
