We should take note of what terrible contract(s) the Pens might be looking to offload this summer and be prepared for Botts to do another favor to his former boss by using up viable cap space for minimal roster improvement. I can hardly wait.

You mean which Sabres will play in the upcoming World Championships. ;)

It should be called the Enzo O'Reilly award in honor of Ennis' and ROR's frequent participation while members of the Sabres.

That should be part of their recruiting pitch to top UFAs. "Well, we will give you more vacation than most teams do. Probably anywhere from 10 days to 2 months more. You can travel to Europe every spring. Really, it's a great work-life balance here with the Sabres."

4th round pick for 31+ point winger and a minor cap dump is a bad trade now? Hes our highest scoring forward not on the top line..sorry but we need more of those trades and not less considering the issues with our middle 6.

Yes, eating $4.5M in salary for the difference between a 3rd and a 4th is still doing his ex-boss a favor. Pay the third, let the Pens keep their dreck.

Meh I don't think Sheary is a problem. On a good team he is an effective depth player. Hunwick has been fine as veteran depth and is off the books after next season. He's a pretty standard 7/8 dman in this league. When you look at the whole scope of the trade I still think it was good value.

Sheary as depth, fine. Hunwick's garbage and having another bad contract around for yet another year is not an advantage.
