Florida selects 5'11' 205 lb defenseman
Chad Morin from Sioux City of the USHL.
Los Angeles is up next.
Quick draft review for Florida, since that was my last pick.
1st round -
Bryan Little C
The Panthers came into this draft needing defensemen. Having said that, with the 10th overall selection I don't think it makes sense to pick any d-man after Erik Johnson is taken. Although if I would have, Chris Summers would have been my pick - guys like Sanguinetti and Wishart just don't seem like sure things to me, as compared to Bryan Little who I'm very, very confident will be a solid NHL'er with his on-ice vision.
In reality Florida may well trade down their first pick to the 15-20 range.
3rd round -
Simon Danis-Pepin D
Now's the time to take a defenseman. Florida likes size and they don't get much bigger than this guy at 6'8". He didn't get a lot of ice-time at the U of Maine this season but his skillset is still quite intriguing.

4th round -
David Ruzicka D
Another raw talent. Size with some scoring ability and a mean-streak. The type of player Mike Keenan might like.
5th round -
Jan Mursak F
Must have big plans for a successful career as this Slovenian already has his own web site.

6th round -
Niclas Andersen D
Another strong, aggressive and mobile defenseman who could succeed in the new NHL.

6th round -
Mitch Fadden C
Did not have a very good year with Seattle in the WHL and was traded. But worth a 6th round gamble.
7th round -
Chad Morin D
A very good puck-moving defenseman.
