As much as I appreciate the value of a higher draft pick, you play to win, especially when you're loading your lineup with young, inexperienced players. As we've seen, drafting #2 isn't necessarily better than 3-5. But developing competitiveness and resilience pays off down the road.

Sometimes teams link the extensive media game notes package on official team websites prior to games. When offered, it is up to the reader to scroll. I didn't see that link for this game but the stats were on a writer's Twitter account linked from those pregame notes.
