I live in a twin house, and we just got new neighbors (we own, they rent). Last night, this dude decided though it would be a good idea to move all of his furniture and other shit in at 2am. It caused my dog to bark which caused my son to wake up. Luckily, he went right back to sleep after about 10mins of stirring/crying.

I let him know what time it was (literally and figuratively).

Looks like the reviews are complaining that it’s too much Godzilla/action & not enough human focus this go around.

I didn’t mind the first one but that was honestly my complaint about it, not enough Godzilla/action screen time.

I had the same problem with the first one and didn't even finish it. The soldier kid was as charasmatic as a doorknob and they spent so much time following him that I probably gave up around 45 minutes in. People aren't paying to see Random Human Character #3 so don't spend half the damn movie on them! The new movie looks like what most people want in the first place. In Pacific Rim the pilots and Jaegers had an Top Gun-esque allure to them and the scientists were comedy relief. Don't try to make Shakespeare out of kaiju movies and EMBRACE THE HAM.

Tornado in PA yesterday???? That's crazy.

I grew up in the Midwest and moved to the Philly area when I was 26. I had never been directly affected by a tornado in all those years living in some prime tornado breeding ground. There had been tornadoes in nearby communities/counties and I had experienced some truly terrible, even devastating thunderstorms without actual tornadoes but never could say "I lived through a tornado" myself. Then, barely two weeks after I had moved to Pennsylvania, a tornado zipped through my neighborhood early one morning while I was getting ready for work, toppling some trees and causing some damage to homes. It was a weak one but nevertheless a real tornado. Finally, I could say I lived through one and I had to move to PA for it to happen. To be honest, some of the non-tornado storms I endured in Iowa were worse and scarier, though. I was always terrified of storms and the idea of tornadoes and though storms out here are generally tamer, I still get nervous when the thunder and lightning get going. A lifetime of conditioning I suppose.

I saw someone on twitter say that complaining about lack of human character development in a Godzilla movie is akin to complaining about the “acting” in porn.

Like I said I didn’t necessarily mind the first one but there was like 15 minutes of screen between Godzilla & those other monsters fighting each other. It was also strange how early into the movie they killed off Bryan Cranston.

To be honest, I often like that in movies.

I think often when the action of a movie is limited, it builds suspense/anticipation and it makes it more special when you do finally see the action.

Obviously there's limits, too much or too little is a problem, but I personally think they found a pretty good balance in that Godzilla movie.

It did at least bring this great moment.

I have no desire to see it. Trailors looked awful and usually when they hype a movie up like this its trash.

So, i'm in Vancouver... 1100 miles away from home. My ex girlfriend is also here, with the guy she was cheating on me with.

My life just became "Forgetting Sarah Marshall 2: True North."

Wow, f*** dude... that really sucks ass... I mean did you only see her or did she run into you and talk to you?

I was walking to a pub to watch the game last night. And that's when i saw them. No conversation, not even certain she saw me.

Sheer happenstance. She has never even been to Canada haha
