As for the Leafs, I don’t see how they changed their team sufficiently to alter how teams will play them in a 7 game series.
Tampa Bay imported the right kind of players after their sweep at the hands of Columbus.
Thornton is redundant with Spezza on the team and Simmonds is the perfect guy but about 3 or 4 seasons too late.
Obviously the Leafs could become harder to play against through experience but they almost need some kind of massive injury bug or some other kind of adversity to teach them how to win through work ethic and discipline as opposed to trying to out skill their way to the Cup.
