    Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy turned away 22 shots and has now gone 13-5 for the ongoing campaign with a 1.88 GAA and a .930 save percentage. He has registered a 28-20 career playoff total with a 2.44 GAA and a .918 save percentage, and is 3-2 against the Islanders since the NHL Return to Play Plan with a 1.81 GAA and a .928 save percentage.

    The Lightning are scoring the 4th highest amount of goals per game during the current postseason (3.17), while conceding the 3rd lowest amount in their defensive zone (2.28). The team is 9th in power play (19.6%) and 10th in penalty kill (83.1%).

    Another chance to prove themselves came about for the New York Islanders (13-8-0), who kept the Tampa Bay Lightning from reaching the Stanley Cup Final during Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Final matchup after beating the Bolts 2-1 in the second overtime at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Tuesday.

    Goalie Semyon Varlamov made 36 saves on Tuesday, taking his current performance status to 11-6 for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 2.17 GAA and a .918 save percentage. He has posted a 24-19 previous postseason total with a 2.40 GAA and a .916 save percentage, and is 2-2 against the Lightning during the ongoing campaign with a 2.65 GAA and a .910 save percentage.

    The Islanders are netting the 5th highest quantity of goals per game since the restart of hockey (3.10), while allowing the 4th lowest amount defensively (2.33). The team is 15th in both power play (15.8%) and penalty kill (80.3%).

    Ive really never seen a team like the Islanders buy into a system so completely.

    The problem with star players, as that while they produce, they do not always adhere to a system or at least not 100%. The Islanders are literally like robot cybors with no ego and its amazing to see.
