[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

Just having this opportunity is very exciting. Playing with Nash and Kreider like this is pretty unbelievable.
With their speed and their size, we should be able to control down low and hold onto the puck and get some good scoring opportunities.
Playing with Kreids again is obviously awesome. We succeeded in college hopefully that turns over to this game, too.
I’m like a little kid in a candy store, just being out there with those two is pretty unbelievable.
- Kevin Hayes

If they’re looking for a guy, you want to play and you want to prove you belong.
I’ve been through this a number of years now, up and down where every game counts.
I know it’s cliché, but you’ve got to take advantage of every opportunity you get and prove you belong here for the whole year.
- Chris Mueller

This has everything to do with what I talked about at the start, when he’s going to be in our lineup, we’d like Duclair to be in our top 9.
I don’t think he’s going to play every game, that’s where we are right now. Yes he’s a young player, he needs to play but we’ve played 5 games in 8 nights.
It’s a pretty good learning curve for a young player. So I feel for this next game against SJ that the 12 other forwards right now give us a chance to win.
Not saying with Anthony we wouldn’t, just saying for this game this is what I feel is best for the team.

Really pumped to see that Kreider - Hayes - Nash line go to work

Have to take advantage of a team playing their second game in less than 24 hours.

Re: defensive play and advanced stats, I think it can be important to see what is causing the "bad defensive play" because changes in coaching strategy or deployment or all kinds of other things might be able to have an effect.

Also, I'm still not a total fan of what boils down to "take more shots and you're good defensively" message the current possession statistics imply. I hope it all becomes a bit more nuanced in the future.

Lets hope Marty St. Louis on Brassard line experiment number two works this time. rather see Kreider get back with Brassard and Zucc but i can see the optimism having him play with Nash/Hayes. I guess we will see.

well without steps we're probably better suited being a three line team until he's back

Agreed. Although I didn't hate Duke on the 4th (not long-term obviously) but as a stop-gap.

Maybe Duke-Mueller-Malone?

I actually like that line. Could be a scoring threat if they can be matched up against the 3rd/4th lines of other teams.

The last time these two teams played at MSG I threw ziti out of my 2nd floor window in anger
In other words, bolt everything down before sitting down to watch the game tonight (and yourself as well, away from windows and food) :p:

Why would AV make that Second line? Ya they might be uber creative and great passers but they'll never get the puck and will lose every board battle.

Yup! I guess he forgot what he witnessed with that line. Hopefully at some point Kreider becomes a fixture on that line. Would be a scary line in my opinion
