Maybe those ex-Canadian's now playing for the Sabres will bring their A game against their old rival?

Hope so because the Bruins are not happy with their play to date and it could be a long night for the Sabres…….

Looking at our schedule... We easily could start off with something like 2-12 of our first 14 games. I expected us to be a little better than last year but so far its the same old story. Bruins will win this one 5-2.

Seemed Stafford & Gionta were swapped in the 3rd last night... Any word floating around about possible line changes? Any chance that the so-called 1st line will be flipped? Or at least swap around Moulson & Foligno.

I know this has been said alot of times already, but what is the point of having Reinhart on the 4th line playing 6 minutes a night? It's not exactly putting him in a position to succeed and wastes another one of his 9 games.
Was he really playing THAT bad when on better lines?

oh come on now, certainly that could be Hodgson on the forecheck applying pressure making Chara retreat back into his own zone right? RIGHT??? :help:

True. But the first thing that popped into my mind was that's the typical Hodgson back check look. Stop skating, coast then reach for the puck.

The sticky stick thing is so obvious - how can this not be coached out of his game? Or at least photoshopped out of the pics. Sigh.

No he wasn't playing bad. Nolan wants to get the team going and doesn't want to put it on the kids to get the team back on track. He wants the vets and experienced younger players to be tasked with righting the ship. Its the same reason why Risto is playing on the 3rd pairing. Neither is being punished. They are being protected. Many fans hate this and I completely understand it. But Nolan and the coaches don't feel its fair to task the teenagers with getting the team back on track and are being overly protective.

I wonder if the 3rd period lines stay tonight.

Nolan had swapped Gionta and Stafford.

Mitchell/Girgs/Stafford
Foligno/Hodgson/Stewart
Moulson/Ennis/Gionta

The seemed to play a little better after that switch

I would love to see Larsson up and on Girgs' LW.

To be fair Chara has elite speed and acceleration. Hodgson is employing the glide and reach speed boosting technique. Not much more he can do on a play like that.

Allright that sounds very reasonable, never thought about it like that.Still, both players are young and need to play alot so that worries me a bit. There is a better place for that discussion though so I wont go more OT.

Thank you for a good answer! :)

Yeah, I'm curious about the swap too, if it'll hold thru to today. I'd swap Moulson & Foligno.

Moulson isn't getting the puck from Ennis and Foligno isn't doing much with it, but really I'm also keen to see a good checking line put together and Foligno-Ennis-Gionta looks pleasing to my imagination.
