Nolan Patrick making progress, could be a regular at Flyers’ practices next week; ‘Ghost’s’ knee improved

Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere returned home Thursday — he grew up in South Florida — but was not in the lineup as the Flyers faced the Panthers at the BB&T Center.

The good news: Gostisbehere’s surgically repaired left knee is feeling much better, and he may be available when the Flyers play in Tampa on Saturday afternoon.
Coach Alain Vigneault said Gostisbehere was almost 100 percent.

Even with Tampa’s injuries, they’re one of the best regular season teams assembled in the past 20 years. I’d be happy with a point, praying for 2!

Lol Tampa on another 9 game win streak headed into a game vs us. What the hell. This schedule. This year...

Tampa lineup looks pretty different. Missing some of the top guys in the nhl let alone the team.

Good news, especially since Sanheim might be dinged up. Hopefully this means Patrick is about to get cleared for contact. If so, and all goes well, let’s get him down to LHV for a couple of weeks and then hopefully he can work off enough rust to at least step in and center the 4th line. Anything more than that, this season, would be a huge bonus.

Dudes, last night is the PERFECT example of why Hart f***ing rocks.

Down 3-0 at home in a revenge game where points are at a premium. Florida comes out humming to start the 3rd. Boom, goal. No chance of stopping if. 3-1 courtesy of the other team's second best player.

They keep humming. Hart makes a series of 3 saves back to back to back with one being a 10 beller a few minutes following the goal.

They keep humming. Another scramble in front and Hart is there to make saves.

They keep humming. Goal. The other team's best player scores. 3-2.

They keep humming. Home team is gonna tie this one. Hart making save after save. Then the save of the game on Dadanov. Home team hangs their heads. The momentum shifts to a more even game, then Coots puts it away 5 minutes later.

You can see where this is going. Elliot doesn't make it out of that period alive. We all know it. But here's the thing- it might not even be because of any "softies". Does anyone blame Elliot if that Dadanov play goes in? Does anyone blame Elliot on that Hooberdough goal? Nope. MAYBE we'd whine on Barkov's goal but that was a snipe.

Sometimes the other team outplays your team, and sometimes it gets ugly. In times like that it's up to the goalie. In those situations, Hart is the man. Elliot wilts.

Let the record show that it was 4-0 going into the third.

I am tired. I suck.

My point still stands.

Hart was fantastic last night. He looked super relaxed which is the opposite of how he has looked on the road most of this season. He was just chillin' back there making it look too easy. This is the eventually the Hart we are gonna see 9/10 games when he is at his peak and it's gonna be amazing.

Not that the AHL is beneath him or anything, but depending on the timing of when he would actually return, I would rather he just stay here and play. He won't be counted on for a ton of minutes anyway

Don’t disagree, but it certainly helps that the defense was largely very good against a fantastic offensive team last night. I agree about your 9/10 thought though.

Agree. Sometimes it's easy to forget he's only 21 with 65 career GP.

After this much time off, I think at least a couple of AHL games would be beneficial before he starts playing for a team in the playoff stretch drive.
