Laughton is clearly a better PK option than Lehtera. Seriously, you don't have to make an excuse for every single decision the Flyers make.

Laughton, Raffl, Giroux, Couturier are all better options. Heck even Simmonds plays on the PK now. This is why I don't really read much of deadhead's posts. He refuses to acknowledge poor decision making.

He refuses to punish those that he likes, even if they suck ass. I take this kind of shit as a statement that he wants this team to do worse. I take it as a statement that he's trying to intentionally harm the team and its chances of winning.

Yes it would have been easy to make up Lehtera's SH TOI the past 11 games by giving more to Laughton and Simmonds. There's nothing about Lehtera's skillset that suggests he would be good at killing penalties.

That's exactly how I take it and that is why I would inflict bodily harm on him if I could.

f***, he's by far and away the slowest person the team and he's too slow to turn around to make good plays or to even pressure. Seriously, if there was easily one visual queue that he is not right for the job, he is too slow. He skates like he shit himself and he's trying not to get it everywhere and make it worse.

Leier 14.4
Filppula 12.3
Couts 9.2
Laughton 8.7
Giroux 6.8
Simmonds 6.4
Raffl 5.3

Last year:
PEB 7.7 (6.9, 6.5 previous two seasons), 6.0 in Vegas this year
Couts 7.0
VdV 6.5 (6.3, 6.0 previous two seasons)
Simmonds 5.8
Read 5.3
Filppula 10.2 Philly/6.0 TB (4.7, 5.2, 5.9 the three previous seasons)

The drastic falloff for Filppula moving from TB to Philly, and the bounceback by PEB in Vegas, suggests the problem on the PK goes much deeper than who you put at forward.

Only an idiot ignores an easily fixable problem because there is a more serious problem.

Really small sample.
He's bad, but I doubt he's that bad, he's actually pretty smart, just can't skate.
Now explain Leier's piss poor performance in a decent sample.

Leier is a rookie who struggled with the jump from AHL penalty killing to NHL penalty killing, but you don't need to use him on the PK to get Lehtera's shambling corpse off of it.

Why is Lehtera up while Read is in the AHL? Matt Read is a significantly better player over Lehtera.

Read doesn't even look that good at the AHL level, his legs are gone.

Lehtera is a body, but we're already overworking Giroux and Simmonds is getting close to 20 minutes.
Unfortunately, you can't get through a season playing two lines and one pair of defensemen, though Hakstol is trying.
