- Forsberg becomes an elite ~82 point LW
- Tolvanen becomes an elite ~82 point RW
- Johansen becomes a ~75 point 1C
- Fiala becomes a ~65 point LW
- Saros becomes a top 10-15 #1 goaltender

These are all ceilings. The only ones I can see actually happening tbh are Fiala and Saros - MAYBE Forsberg.

Pastrnak scoring 45-50 I don’t think is out of the question
McAvoy making Krug expendible seems inevitable
Donato scoring 30, guy has a good release
Debrusk topping out around 60 points
One of Studnicka/Forsbacka Karlsson becoming a top 2 C, starting as a 3c this year ideally

I’d put money on the top 2. Someone else’s money on the bottom 3.

MacKinnon - 100-120+
Rantanen - 90-100
Makar - Karlsson/Karlsson-like equivalent on production
Landeskog - PPG+
Barrie - 70+ Pts on D

OP made it sound like it was career peak potential, so I went with those best case scenarios

Makar produced about the same as another Dman that got picked about 40 picks after him. I'm really not that high on him and I don't see the reason for the hype.

Jones and Werenski become perennial Norris contenders

Panarin re-signs long term and puts up 85+ pts/season

PLD continues to develop and puts up 65-70 pts

Wennberg bounces back and puts up 50-60 pts/season

Bobrovsky signs long term and plays that contract at his current level of play.

Playing on what was on of the worst teams

This is talking about best case scenarios, and Makar has the skillset to justify a high ceiling

Think of it like “low franchise” in NHL games. Not likely to reach ceiling, but definitely a high one

Nico Hischier becomes #1 top 5 center in the league Selke contender putting up 80-85 points per year. Similar to Datsyuk
Ty Smith becomes top 2 way defenseman, similar in style to Duncan Keith
Jesper Bratt becomes a 75 point, ultra creative top winger, similar to Gaudreau
Pavel Zacha becomes a physical, shutdown center with fantastic pk abilities and pots 70 points per year
Steve Santini becomes a perfect #2 shutdown defenseman who lays huge hits night in and night out, similar to Phaneuf

This is absolute best case scenario for all of these players at their peak in the league

Elias Pettersson: Somewhere around 80-90 points scoring 35-40 goals.
Boeser: I hope he can crack 50 maybe once in his career or come close to it. 35-45 goals a year tho.
Horvat: Complete package player, scoring 30g 30a a year and being that reliable center for us.
Quinn Hughes: I would think he would have an incredible goal to assist discrepancy. 3-5 goals a season but 50-55 assists, as he's a playmaker, and one day be regarded as one of the best skating defenseman in his prime.
Thatcher Demko with a Vezina during his peak, or gets us 30-40 wins a season

If everything goes perfectly:

Matthews: 55 goals, 100 points
Tavares: 45 goals, 100 points
Marner: 30 goals, 90-95 points
Nylander: 30 goals, 80-85 points
Rielly: 15 goals, 65 points

A more conservative peak projection:

Matthews: 50 goals, 85-90 points
Tavares: 40 goals, 85-90 points
Marner: 25 goals, 80-85 points
Nylander: 25 goals, 70-75 points
Rielly: 10 goals, 55 points

That’s funny cause I make Makar low franchise when I play. One mode he refused to grow past like 82, one he hit 91 and won a Norris.

Pretty much nailed it, although I'd probably switch up Hughes and Horvat. I think a peak Hughes surpasses a peak Horvat.

Most optimistic:

Gaudreau: 100 pt franchise winger and elite playmaker
Monahan: PPG 45 goal centre that competes for the selke and rocket ruchard
Tkachuk: PPG power forward that pisses everyone off
Hanifin: 50-60 point Norris contender
Lindholm: Elite ppg playmaking centre/winger

Realistic:

Gaudreau:85-95 pt elite winger and playmaker
Monahan: 40 goal 70-75 pt centre with a solid 2 way game
Tkachuk: 60-70 point power forward that still pisses everyone off
Hanifin: 15 goal 40 pt #1 d-man; anchor for our blueline
Lindholm: 55-60 pt playmaking winger/centre

Tarasenko - 45G , 82 pts
Schwartz 35G - 82 pts
ROR 30G - 75 pts
Schenn - 30G - 75 pts
Fabbri - 25G - 60 pts (if 100% healthy)

I think this what these guys are capable of

Kucherov likely peaked this past season, but if he could get hot for a long time, 50+60 isn't out of the question in a dream season.

I think Point will flirt with a ppg several times in his career, and maybe hit 90 at some point.

Hedman is likely seeing his peak right now. I don't see him topping the 72 he put up a couple of years ago, but he could equal it a time or two.

I think Sergachev will become one of the better #2's in the league and hit 50 points from time to time.

Not sure if Yanni Gourde will repeat last season points-wise, but I think he'll get better overall, and be a 45-55 guy with lots of hustle, who's game, hopefully, begins to translate in the playoffs. I doubt it'll be for us though.

I'd take Fabbri out and I'd say Vince Dunn might have a higher ceiling as a top-pairing defenseman. Or Robert Thomas as #1 center.

Makar produced about the same as another Dman that got picked about 40 picks after him. I'm really not that high on him and I don't see the reason for the hype.

If you’re referencing Sharks prospect Mario Ferraro, who was picked 45 spots behind Makar at 49th overall, you might as well mention that Ferraro was his teammate and defense partner and won the Team MVP over him.

Even as an “absolute ceiling” prediction, some of the posts here are a bit outrageous. Makar does not have Erik Karlsson potential. A realistic ceiling for Makar is probably his Avalanche teammate Tyson Barrie.
