Based on our game 6 effort I'm not expecting much. You'd think they would've been motivated to close the series out at home. But they weren't. We developed a bad habit of coasting along through the regular season because somewhere along the way, someone thought it would be a good idea to just simply exist for approximately a calendar and we'd figure it out along the way.
Either they're poorly coached in non-pressure situations or they are simply adverse to working as hard as it takes to win a Stanley Cup until they are forced to. I seriously wish I knew who motivates these guys before puck drop and between the first 2 periods when we get beaten to every play, outshot 2 to 1 and more or less dominated for 40 minutes.
The ONLY good thing I can salvage from this is that we've learned to come back (within a game) through very adverse circumstances for a long time now. And perhaps just one of them circled Monday on their calendar and wrote, "PLAYOFFS START TODAY" and we'll see a better effort on a nightly basis starting in the Stanley Cup Finals.
