That's probably the only good thing to come out of this game. I wonder how Emery will take it when he is sent to LV when Mason comes back? Its a shame but he just can't play NHL level hockey anymore.

I like Emery. He is a good guy and has been a great team guy but I agree. You know the guy is trying, his body just wont let him.

They fired Bill Barber after two years back in the early 2000's. His teams at least made the playoffs both years. I don't think many can top Barber's status in this organization.

True. Didnt think of that. I think overall though some of the management really do love Berube.

Or they are placing the blame completely on the players.

Barber was seen as a true heir apparent too. If the Flyers never promoted him, someone else would have hired him provided he wanted to leave.

I don't think they'd send Emery to the minors. I think they'd rather send Zepp and keep them strong.

Why is Mark Streit such **** at keeping the puck in on the PP? I mean youd think that would be a strength of his considering his play style but he is total **** at it and it pisses me off maybe more than anything else. I mean if it were Coburn, Schultz, or Schenn Id get over it but why the hell does Streit suck at it so much?

hes so ****ing klutzy at it, its beyond all reason. hes the bill buckner of the blueline.

I'm OK with coaches from inside the organization...assuming they worked their way up and didn't get handed a position for being "family." Berube and Cote are two examples of exactly that; they really didn't earn their stripes.

Thats completely inaccurate. Berube was asst coach of the Phantoms for three seasons and then head coach for 1 season (where the Phantomes won the Eastern Division) and then served as assistant coach with the Flyers before getting the head coach job. He totally worked his way up.

I am not sure I agree with that. Barber caught lightning in a bottle for one season. When he got fired (Primeau basically throwing him under the bus), he never got another coaching job (I think he was player development for Tampa). Thats it.

Yeah, he never coached again after being fired. Before he was promoted, he interviewed for a couple other jobs, and there was a fair amount of anticipation.

Kind of strange actually. I felt bad for him the year he got fired, especially with shenanigans that Primeau pulled. His wife died a very painful and slow death from cancer that season. Leave it to "mr. compassion" Clarke to do that though.
