Even if you ignore the homerism and lack of insight, Hartnell is the worst color commentator around. He simply doesn't have the ability to speak in the way that's required to do the job.

JJ sounded like he was sick.
He mentioned he was sick. Totally agree on Hartnell. He is not good in the booth.

Double Indemnity..........Fred and Barbara were terrific, then again so was Robinson.

If you get a chance see Pushover with Fred and her first credited movie Kim Novak, sorta a DI Lite.

DI is in my TOP Five

In the offseason he explicitly stated the team doesn't need offensive weapons but instead needs 10-12 goal PK specialists and management catered to him, so he can pound sand.
I'm still wondering who those 10 to 12 goal PK specialists are because it certainly isn't anyone on the PHD line and Laughton looks like a shell of his former self.

I watched 5 minutes of last nights game and the only things I can remember is that the Powerplay is comically bad, but Hartnell is even worse.

As mentioned in GDT by a few, they had a couple times where the high man(in this case Farabee) moved out of the offensive zone on the PP, thus negating a passing option and in essence creating a 4 on 4...absolutely unbelievable and "WTF?" wothy. Horrid coaching. I mean its truly mind boggling this guy still has job...

I watched on sportsnet in Canada...in true Canadian fashion the broadcast team was falling all over themselves heaping praise on the Flyers for various aspects. I just kept thinking "what am I missing?" cause I sure as f*** don't/didn't see what they do.

It’s laughable. They can’t even gain the zone without turning the puck over. Or they dump it in and the other team gets it and gets the puck out quickly. They are lucky to get a couple shots on goal a game on the PP

Comparing Couturier and RNH contracts, man, Fletcher was an idiot. RNH making $5.1MM at a PPG (disount a little for McD if you want), NMC with very little bonus structure. SC at $7.8MM at 0.7 PPG and significant bonuses build in. Why do we always overpay for essentially the same player?

It isn't easy to lose every move over half a decade on accident, but Fletcher made it look effortless.

In all fairness, Couturier is coming off of two lost seasons with a serious back injury that may still curtail his career. Without him the Flyers were what they were last season. With him they are at least respectable. IMO, if he can stay healthy he is worth his contract. Now about some others on the roster....

When I watch games the morning after, I find myself skipping forward during the PP. It is unwatchable. They aren't even connecting on easy passes these days.

I watched end of 2nd and most of 3rd on Sportsnet. Broadcasters praised Flyers hanging in there until late 2nd PPGA. I like Konecny but he had two good chances to clear the zone and tried to turn and burn instead of stopping and being sure. Cost them a big goal. Laughton also had a couple fail-to-clears.

Despite their record, the Oilers have some elite talent and you can just see that a lot of guys on our roster can't handle them. Tippett, Atkinson and Foerster all looked lost at times on their wings.

At this point, the Flyers are 13th in the league, in a wild card spot. However, the standings are tight and they are close to being caught by a whole bunch of teams.

The Flyers are headed for the 13th overall pick. Tale as old as time.

I am all for piling on Fletcher; however, not only is Couturier a superior player to RNH but the team circumstances were vastly different. RNH wasn't sniffing 1C when he signed his contract and it was iffy he would play 2C with Draisatl on the team, too. Couturier had no challengers to his place as 1C.

Nuge is Damn good at his role in Edmonton. But don’t kid yourself couturier would look just as good if not better in edmonton

Is this a parody post? RNH is nowhere near as good a player as Couturier. He got 100 points by being a passenger on a PP with McDavid and Draisaitl. And he did that years after signing the contract.

Edmonton would trade him for Couturier in a heartbeat.
