All time series record: The Lightning lead 43-41-3. Islanders all time at home VS Lightning are 23-19-1

Tampa Bay tries to snap a five-game losing streak at New York, which hopes to avoid dropping six straight at home for the first time in six seasons Tuesday night.

The Lightning could have difficulty building on their latest effort against the Islanders, who are 10-2-0 in the series at home since 2007-08. New York, which has outscored Tampa Bay 20-8 during a five-game home winning streak, also took all three matchups overall last season.

The Islanders (9-19-6), though, have been among the league's worst teams over the last four weeks. Sitting at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division, New York is 1-9-3 in its last 13, including an 0-2-3 skid at home.

The Islanders, who have been outscored 15-6 over that stretch, haven't dropped six in a row on their own ice since an 0-5-2 slide Jan. 3-Feb. 5, 2008.

The Islanders, who are 4 for their last 48 on the power play after going 0 for 3, dropped to 1-16-4 when scoring two goals or fewer.

Nabokov has gone 2-2-4 at home while compiling a 2.67 goals-against average, more than full goal lower than his road mark of 3.75. He is 5-1-0 with a 2.01 GAA and one shutout in his last six games against the Lightning.

Bishop, among the NHL leaders with a 1.97 GAA, has posted an even more impressive 1.34 mark in his last eight games. He has allowed one or zero goals in three of his last four road starts.

Bishop is 1-2-0 with a 3.69 GAA against New York. He will need to be wary of Islanders captain John Tavares, who has 16 points during a 12-game stretch versus Tampa Bay.

Tavares leads the team with 13 goals and 24 assists. New York is 5-1-0 at home when he scores compared to 0-5-6 when he doesn't.

I might watch this.
Tampa isn't too good, so the Isles might have a chance.

Plus, I need to see what else is on and what I have on the DVR.

We think we have defensive woes, look at Tampa's Injury list, with four defensemen out.

Plus Stamkos and Malone and they STILL FIND A WAY TO WIN GAMES!!

See the difference between us and them??? Tampa Bay has a solid Management in place. We have management staff that rivals C-Town in Jamaica, Queens.

I will be watching the Isles lose again. For some reason I just keep tuning in to this trainwreck, why do I love this crappy organization...:help:

It really is a sickness. I wanna turn away but unless I am out with my girl I always end up tuning in. I am sure they will keep it close, and find some ridiculous way to blow this but like a fool I will be watching it. :banghead:

What a depleted TB lineup. If anyone has an excuse for injury !!!!

TB has a bunch of kids in the lineup - those are first year or 2nd year guys, given a chance to play, with good players. :)

Isles MUST WIN games like this. No excuses.

Ya, but they have Ben Bishop in net with a 933 save percentage. Too bad we couldn't have been more proactive in the goalie market this past off season.:help:

This is the sad part. We have ONE injury. Hahahaha. We are probably the healthiest team in the league. If one injury cripples us this badly, this team was going to fail regardless.

Bolts - 9
Piles - 1

Let's hope we maintain the status quo tonight. For in the republic of mediocrity, competence is dangerous.

Isles when scoring more than 2 goals: 9-2-2
Isles when scoring 2 goals or less: 0-17-4

This team doesn't have a win unless it scores 3 goals. We have scored more than 2 goals only twice in the last 13 games.
