Patrick Roy is "rather large"?

Jeez I would have thought 6'3. He sure played like a bigger goalie (relative the era) given his style. Makes him that much more impressive IMO.

In the latter half of Roy's career his equipment was comically large. Probably made his true size deceiving though 6'2 for his generation of goalie was pretty tall.

Yawn? Who cares if they're boring? They both get/got it done. Bishop has a .933 2.07 stat line for crying out loud. Goalies in general have about 1/20th of the exciting looking saves nowadays because of the different style of play.

Exciting goalies usually mean bad defense or bad positioning, neither of which we want to see.

I clearly recall when Eddie got here, he looked boring, and when he let in a goal, he looked really bad at times. Clearly a mistake. His predecessors, like Darcy Walaluk often looked spectacular in their near saves, and while looking good, had pretty terrible save %. As Lat Twist says, boring is pretty darn good when it comes to goalies.

If there is one position where I don't care about entertainment value, it's goaltending. I want forwards and defensemen that are fun to watch. Goalies can be as boring as they want, just keep the puck out of the net.
