Hoping and praying that Garrison's injury isn't as bad as it looked. If he's out for the first round of the playoffs, we don't get a second round of the playoffs.

And damn, looking at the replay of Paquette hitting that post. Deja vu. Creepy.

Pretty much the worst outcome the Lightning could have expected from this game.

Gave their 1st round opponent hope and lost two key players for what is probably a very long time.

We may have just seen the end of the Lightning's season. Sure, the Bolts are in the playoffs, but they go nowhere with that D corps. The only legitimate NHL defenders currently being iced by the Lightning are Hedman, Stralman and Carle(and I have a hard time typing his name). The rest of them are AHL quality at best.

Garrison goes down. Team plays like crap. Can't score on a 5-on-3. Can't score with SIX power plays. So we pull Bishop with 2:30 left down 3 goals? Why? Because we're gonna magically find offense? and....Paquette gets injured.

**** everything about today.

We went from:

Hedman - Stralman
Garrison - Coburn
Carle - Sustr

to:

Hedman - Sustr
Barberio - Stralman
Carle - Witkowski (?) / Nesterov

This.

Not to mention, the only one of those 3 that could manage to string together 4 good games is Stralman.

A recipe for first round exit and liver failure. It's not even something we can be frustrated about, because we brought in Coburn to avoid this exact situation.

Fingers crossed for Garrison to be back in time for playoffs. He's the absolute minimum for any kind of credible D corps.

EDIT: Bryan Burns ‏@BBurnsNHL

Cooper on Garrison,Paquette injuries: “I don’t know, but none of them look good. It’ll be a big blow if those guys aren’t available.”

The irony is we brought Coburn in to avoid a situation that was better than this one. Carle was injured then. Now it's Garrison.

Why can't we have anything nice?

I know it is just circumstances but have 2 guys taken out vs the most likely first round opponent is just seems too coincidental. Even if it is.

Ya and most of you guys want carle traded this summer! Thank goodness we have carle now! We are toast if those are the first round d lines!

I'd rather have Boyle playing D all the way through the playoffs than have Sustr play on that top pairing.

I'm at least half serious.

Garrison is heading back to Tampa to and there was apperently some talk about Paquette going to the hospital in Detroit but no one have confirmed it.

Detroit had this one circled on their calendar and Bolts did not, and it showed. It hurts that Paquette did that at a meaningless point of the game. Who cares about that goal? But now he may be finished.

There's talk of Paquettes injury being less serious than first feared.

EDIT:Renaud Lavoie ‏@renlavoietva
The first report on Cedric Paquette is better than expected. No fracture. Not sure if he'll play Monday. #lightning #tvasports

If he just sprained his knee, that's amazing. The angle of the knee had MCL/ACL written all over it.

I hope the team are pissed of by their poor play this game, that they will go to bed angry, they will get up tomorrow angry and then practice angry and then they come out against Montreal smelling blood and kick some ass in every game from here on out...that should be the only accepteble thing after the non-effort they showed tonight. The thing about this game though is that we didn't even test their goalie much, if we hafd then maybe we could have created something at least.

But with this team you never know, sometimes the lack of emotions and urgency is troubling.
