Big shout out to all the people that pretty much jumped ship after Edmonton went up 1-0 after only 10 minutes. Have some faith in your team for ****s sake. It's a 60 minute game.

I didn't bail

I did, however, promptly excuse myself make a sandwich, and the Sharks then immediately scored

You're welcome

Wow. Beat out two others who had four goalscorers. (Called 2 of Pavelski's goals + 3 other people = 5)

Also :clap:s for Nieto. Kid looks amazing out there. Would be nice for both him and Hertl to develop into real top 6 players full time.

Hertl-Thornton-Burns
Marleau-Couture-Nieto
Torres-Pavelski-Wingels

is a damn nice top 9 going into next year.

Didn't LA lose like 9 games in a row not too long ago? They aren't good. The Sharks would DESTROY them in a 7 game series right now.

Right. They aren't good...

Did I say they're not good? Reading comprehension please.

I said they're not that damn goos. Not as crazy good as everyone is acting like they are around here. It's getting insufferable. But we've already had this conversation in a previous GDT. Where I posted about who they've been playing since they've come back from the olympics looking like world-beaters. Mostly bottom 10 possession and defensive teams.

Yes. They are a good team and a contender. But they're also playing a long stretch of games against teams that perpetuate this new offensive illusion. Go look it up in the Caps GDT if your actually interested.

Kinda crazy to think we couldn't beat LA this year. Our team is better than it was last year, LA is arguably the same. A little worse even.

But I'd rather avoid them all together. Let the Ducks brawl it out.

LA is good, real good, but I think we could take them. It would be a very tough series, like it always is, but I feel we'd have a really good chance this time around. Especially with home ice.

How are the Kings worse than last year?

Nieto looked really good out there. Fast and nifty with the puck.

Re: Kings. They are good. But yes, we can beat them.

The reason those of us who want to avoid them is this - even if we win, we'll be more beat up than playing the Wild or practically any other team. It has NOTHING to do with being scared of them.

I completely agree with avoiding them to take the easier path. I don't think anyone would actually choose to play them. They are a good team and a tough out in the playoffs. But there are a ton of people around here it seems that legitimately think we have no chance against the Kings. I'd like to make a list so when we do beat them those people can eat their crow.

On a more positive note, wow, Matt Nieto. He's been playing like a seriously legit top-6 forward. He and Marleau are a great duo. I'd almost be in favor of splitting up Couture and Marleau, which is something that I've never even considered since they've been put together. Especially if they're insistent on keeping Pavelski on the top line.

Pavelski-Thornton-Burns
Torres-Couture-Havlat
Nieto-Marleau-Wingels
Sheppard-Desjardins-Kennedy

How about that? Marleau gets the toughs unless it's a team like Anaheim in which Thornton could take Getzlaf.
