Elliott played well and the defense was solid, but it should not be that difficult against teams like Chicago at this stage. 3 games against good teams coming, so we'll see if they're capable of winning against a playoff team for a change.

Really like Eyssimont. If anything, the guy is looking more like a Gourde regen every game. He's definitely weaker and not as intelligent but with experience, he can be quite a surprise.

We played like shit. Passing sucks, dumb decisions, we just look disinterested. Hawks played like an AHL team fighting for their damn lives and we played like it was preseason. This team needs to clinch and rest up. The geriatric boys 77 and 91 need to be bubble wrapped until then. Hopefully Stamkos is OK but if not we are royally f***ed. Leafs scored 4 in 6 minutes against Edmonton, and we give up 5 in 5 against Pittsburgh. We are going to get dunked if this team shows up round 1. I *really* hope they're just cruising right now and disengaged because of it. Our team defense and coverage is minblowingly bad at times.

We're going back to 2015 complete with one scoring line and a PP that messes around too much and except our defense is significantly weaker and imagine Bishop giving up at least one bad goal per game. We have 2 or 3 Brendon Morrows on the school bus, a JT Brown and a Boyle who people are legitimately terrified of in Jeannot

He definitely has that jump that Gourde has in his skating and looks dangerous on the forecheck but hasn't really created any offense out of it.

I was trying to think back to when Goyrde first got here and it was the year we traded away some of the regulars. He came up with some clutch goals and helped us almost secure a playoff spot. Then the offense exploded. I agree, I don't see the offensive side just yet but even if he bags 15 in a season, that's a huge improvement given how he plays the game. He's much more noticeable than Vlad. He just needs the experience and to get a bit stronger. His board play is fairly good for his size.

Talent-wise it's not, but that group collectively made far less mistakes than this one does. At least Coop could keep it to the Sustr/Carle pairing and just roll the TKO line every time and we'd never have to actually defend because we'd be in the offensive zone the entire time. On a given night Cernak screws up and affects a pairing, Hedman screws up and affects another, Sergachev screws up and affects another, Perbix makes rookie mistakes and affects another. Cole and Bogosian are at worst steady and unremarkable
