Our first time coming in to a draft without a first since 2010 and everyone's happy with it. I can't believe we were picking 2nd just last year. What a turnaround.

That was the first draft I attended, but I did have some fun memories of the first day. I was annoyed when Cam Fowler (and Brandon Gormley at the time) seemingly fell into the the Rangers' lap at #10. When they picked Dylan McIlrath, I jumped out of my seat. Most of the fans around me were confused why I was cheering the pick until I chimed in "they messed up!"

There was a Vancouver fan sitting a couple rows in front of me who had printed out a bunch of draft rankings. Then Vancouver traded their first for Keith Ballard. When the trade was announced he threw the papers into the air and stormed off.

Interesting, he had the top 4 correct last year based on what he had been hearing. On the flip side, he reported that we were going to take Makar #1 in 2017; Allegedly we had interest in trading down to #3 in a scenario where Nolan Patrick went first and we'd be assured at least one of Nico/Makar was there at #3.

I’m curious to see how the top of the first round shakes out, and whether we somehow manage to trade back into the first (I doubt it).

Other than that, I probably won’t be following too closely, and that’s pretty nice in its own way.

Going to watch the first 5 to 10 picks or so at work than read up about it when I get home late. Really just wanna see how the top 5 shakes out since I didn't read too much about the draft this year for the first time in ages. Tomorrow I'll watch as much as I can and hopefully we find something good. Would be nice to get a late round pick for Wood or Graves somehow.

Ya. I AM interested in seeing where Michkov ends up.

If I were the Habs , if all the centers are off the board, I'd entertain trading down with Washington, letting them bypass the Flyers to get him (and pick up some assets in the process)
