honestly, if you think about evaluating Stars prospects based on a Future Value ranking (similar to baseball) and say an NHL regular has a FV of 50 and top 6 F/top4 D are FV of 60 it really helps you separate the prospects into tiers..

Can you really project a guy like Gavin White, Chase Wheatcroft, Kyle McDonald, Antonio Stranges to have a FV >50 right now based on what we've seen? I don't think so.

Goalies are also a f***ing mess. I don't really give a shit how good Remi Poirier did in 16 AHL games. Would I rather have a solid backup goalie than an NHL regular? Sure but projecting non-elite goalies is wizardry.

I would say even being a solid AHLer is questionable. Will be interesting to see how his pro season is this year, could struggle.

I whipped my rankings together real quick (I think there are rational opinions to bump most guys up/down a tier) but I don't think he's worthy to be in the FV 50 tier based on what we've seen so far.

totally- we're all learning w/ time which prospects tend to work out and why. not solely based on our favorite team's successes/failures but also based on prospects around the league

And that’s certainly pointed at myself too. Wasn’t meant to disparage others opinions at all. I respect most everyone here’s opinions and think we do a much better job at gaging trade value/prospect projection than any of the main-board posters.
