I wonder if he is still holding out for the NHL. There were some ramblings of him signing with Brynäs in the Swedish second league, probably just because of where he was born. Kärpät will probably not shell out the big cash for him as he needs to be re-programmed to play offensively again.

He should give the AHL a look, but probably doesn't want to.

on 24th, got recalled to AHL, then released from AHL deal

Curious about Utica Comets forward Filip Engaras; a late round pick by the Oilers in 2020 who was never signed. He grew up in Sweden before playing college hockey at UNH. Now 24, he is in the second year of a two-year AHL contract. After starting the season in the ECHL, he is a team best +7 in seven games with the Comets; scoring 1 goal with 4 assists.

Is he someone who slipped through the cracks?
