At least #98 is available for Connor Bedard. His ability is somewhere between Matt Gilroy (97) and Wayne Gretzky (99).

He needs to go to Philly
And then he (Will Smith) loses a fight and gets traded to LA or Anaheim.

Call me insane but getting Bedard this year would allow us to move one of our top 6 for a top 2 defenceman, and that wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen LOL

Good god it’s depressing to be here again, particularly when you know they’re going to go on a late season heater and pull out of the bottom spots.

The team getting lucky in the lottery like the Rangers getting Lafreniere would go a long way to help the team get to the next level and build excitement for new ownership.

lmao whats the point

this roster is not bad enough to be a top 5 pick team. We already know they will go on a heater later on the in the year when there is no pressure and the other teams play their backups against us

Teams are already playing their backups against us. I think @BondraTime posted that we've already faced 9.

I could see us finishing bottom 3 this year. Team looks completely broken.

Lmao so true. You just know when Norris comes back in Feb or whenever the Sens will play slightly above .500 hockey and then the narrative from DJ and Co. will be that showed everyone that they ca compete down the stretch and that they'll be ready next year. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

If injuries keep happening and theres no change up in coaching we could absolutely finish bottom 5. Look at colorado in 2017 they had mackininon, Landeskog and Rantenen and were still a historically bad team. They also played in a tough division, had a coach that had lost the room, and delt with injuries.

Our devision/confererence this year is a bloodbath and our team does not have the coaching, experience or depth to deal with it.

Would be pretty happy with any of Bedard, Fantili, or Carlsson. Would let us look at trading a Norris or Debrincat for D help

you are cherry picking a year where the lottery odds were different

The sens had injuries last year and didn't pick top 3. We have better players now. its highly unlikely

Im not sure how the lottery odds have anything to do with colorado being bad due to coaching, injuries, good division. They finished dead last in the league and picked 4th?

I dont want to derail this thread from the 2023 draft too much but suffice it to say we didnt get better enough compared to other teams in our division, we probably now have the worst coaching in our division, and we have dealt with the most key (top 6 forward+top 4D) injuries in our division. We also have two top 6 forwards underpreforming in Bath and Cat and whether thats because of coaching or something else, besides our first line, a rookie in Pinto, and a rookie in Sanderson trying to do it all on the back end our team is looking ROUGH.

Definitely worthy of a top 5 pick.

Remember: GMPD wanted Tyler Boucher as he's the type of guy we need in a deep playoff run.

Sens will go on a late season heater and pick a 3rd line grinder at 10th overall.

Players didn’t quit last year, this year looks different.

the team was trash last year and played well when there was zero pressure to perform

expect the same this year esp if there is a new coach

our talent level was less last year and we went on a heater

it will be the same this year esp with a coaching change

Im not sure a coaching change of DJ to Capuano would make thay big difference at this point. Seems like shuffling chairs around on the titanic.

The wheels are fully off, we got dumpstered by a very bad SJ team. We dont have the NJ, MTL, DET, BUF, PHI of last year to pad our stats with. We went 12-3-1 against these teams last year, we are currently 2-3-1 against them this year how many of those last 10 games do we think we'll win at this point. At this rate we could easily finish the year with under 30 wins, that would put us in the bottom 7 of last year.

Not needed until Bedard gets to RFA. We need to dump Zaitsev and maybe Hamonic to free up salary and cap dollars to get a top 2 D.

We need to dump Dorion and whoever touted Boucher as the pick!

Unfortunately the team is looking like a bottom 3 team at this time and the probability of rising to challenge for a playoff spot are low. Hopefully a repeat of last season’s late resurgence does not occur.

Let’s hope we have a new GM by then who knows the value of tanking once more to improve this roster for the future.
