Very good skating playmaker. He played high school and those guys never get any love. I don't hate the pick, but it's very early.

"Castagna is a tremendous athlete, the kind of player who excels in on-and-off-ice testing and does it in a pro frame. His game is defined by his skating (acceleration and top gear), his versatility, and his drive… By all accounts, he was a special kid at SAC, where he excelled in the classroom, on the lacrosse field and also in theatre per coach."

Scott Wheeler (From ‘The 2023 NHL Draft prospects who missed Scott Wheeler’s final top 100 ranking’, The Athletic, June 9, 2023)
=============

Speed, versatility, theatre......looks like we found our next Martinook :)

Another combine monster, top 5 in 5 events. Measured in at 6’2.25” /195. As Wheeler said, skating is legit.

Could be a gem. BA mentioned having layers of players coming in. I don't think he minds if some of these guys take a couple extra years to make it

It's bittersweet seeing their happiness, knowing only a couple of these kids will make it.
Most of them will get a meaningful number of pro games, if not NHL games. They can earn good money from a young age, without racking up student debt. Minor leagues aren't the dream but they can be a rewarding chapter of a career.
