This season I'll just update the first post each Monday instead of a copy/paste of a table each time.

It's a weird story because he's playing in the second league with a team that is expected to battle for a lower playoff spot while the team he grew up with and played his SHL hockey for, Brynäs, was relegated just last spring (which he was part of), so it's playing in the same league now. With an absolutely stacked line-up.

I've watched the highlights and this is the best hockey I've seen from Ljungkrantz.

That said, this is basically ECHL level play here, even if the top 3-5 teams could hang well with SHL clubs.

He has signed a contract to play for powerhouse Färjestad as of next season

Had no business playing a lower line role in the top league.

None.

I mean, he surely learned SOMETHING, but those aren't the minutes you want kids like this playing. A season split between the junior team (U20) and a Mestis team would have been best at this point.

May end up that way. The season is young.
Looks like Nurmi hasn't played anywhere since October. Was he injured?

He did get injured in October. He's due back at the end of February/beginning of March.

Very possible that they'll let him get up to speed with the junior team. Probable, in fact, unless they think a stint in the second tier Mestis would be more beneficial.

All in all, a bit of a lost season for a guy who had a shot at being on the WJC team.

He'll remain and unknown quantity for now.

Where's this rumor from?? Ish is playing for Bridgeport tonight and is under contract for the rest of the season. Maybe next year he heads back to the KHL when he becomes a RFA.

Yeah, read what it says. At the "End Of This Season"

I'm curious to see how Iskhakov looks compared to Gauthier in Bridgeport. That will be somewhat telling as to how much of an NHL player is in 'there'.

My measuring stick is how much does a prospect impact the game at the lower levels. A talented prospect should stand out in the minor leagues. For all Iskhakov’s talent—when the puck is on his stick he owns it—he really hasn’t stood out in 5 on 5 play. This season should have been better than last for Isk and I just haven’t seen anything notable from him. I’ve been to 8 B-Isles games this season and plan to go up there tonight from UBS Arena to see Bridgeport-Lehigh Valley. A rare chance at an NHL-AHL doubleheader.

Has Isaiah George been on a run lately? I see he now has 27 points in 54 games, and he's also a +23. I don't recall him being anywhere near .5 PPG, but maybe that's just my incorrect recollection.
