Best guess, He doesn't fit in LA's plans anymore than Dergachyov does. Highly doubt either ever play in NA.A bit off the beaten path since he was taken in the 2018 Draft, but Bulat Shafigullin is close to matching his career highs in goals and points for a season in his fourth KHL season through just 22 games. He also has a much improved plus/minus.
He turns 24 in December and according to Eliteprospects his KHL contract expires at the end of the season.
At this point does he still fit in the Kings' plans?
Kings haven't had the best luck bringing Russian players over. If he does, great. But he makes more money and gets to stay close to home. Doubt he'd want to idle in the AHL and "pay his dues".A bit off the beaten path since he was taken in the 2018 Draft, but Bulat Shafigullin is close to matching his career highs in goals and points for a season in his fourth KHL season through just 22 games.
