Smoking on an airplane has been a federal crime for decades, masking has been policy (or even a law not certain) for over a year, being polite and not a nuisance is common decency, delaying a transatlantic flight costs passenger connections and the airline thousands upon thousands in fees amongst other things.

FOH with this "boys being boys" bs

Imagine 17-20 year old guys not respecting the majesty of the LAW. I retract everything, they should be punished severely.
You clearly don’t travel at all because these kids just f***er up 300 peoples plans. Airports are a mess and these assholes are hacking butts on the plane. Losers

Zubov said it is a lie about smoking. The deal was mainly about masks and "sanitary norms" whatever that means.
Okay, but the coach saying it didn’t happen basically holds the same weight as multiple people on the plane saying it did happen. Doesn’t change the fact that the Russian team was in the wrong. Need to get more details before passing a final judgment I guess.

I personally trust Zubov over some angry passengers from Air Canada business class.

As is your right. Still, no one here knows for sure what happened for sure. Just that whatever did happen was bad enough that the police were involved and people were removed from the plane.

Proves nothing. Lots of people with short fuse nowadays. Could be an annoyed privileged passengers from business class calling police. Bottom line if it was anything serious there would be fines or even jail. Nothing like this happened.

I am pretty sure if nothing was happening the flight attendants would have communicated that. They don't just escort people away by the cops because any random Karen in business class is upset about to much noise.

So, people on the plane tweeting about what is happening proves nothing, but the Russian coach saying nothing happened means 100% nothing happened. Okay then. We will see tomorrow and in the following days what, if anything, comes from this. Good chat though.

Well, then according to regulations and local laws i am pretty sure there would be some fines or sentences reported. Smoking on a plane leads to a huge fine. Can you point me to an information that someone was fined?

Again, smoking on planes in Canada is at least 2500 dollar fine. Can you show me a proof that someone was fined? Those twitter users made it clear that Russians smoked. Where is the proof outside of those "reputable" sources?

You can actually be arrested for smoking on a plane, there is in fact a precedent for that. The passengers on the plane obviously aren't going to know what happens to the players after they were escorted off. Clearly, no one can say whether or not there has been a fine at this time. This works both ways too, just so you know. Can you show me proof that the players weren't smoking? And no, the word of one coach from that team isn't a "reputable" source. We both know this wouldn't be the first time that a coach covered for his players.

If there was a big commotion someone would have recorded it on the cell phone. This is the first thing everybody does in these sitautions. Plus, people would have been arrested; especially if smoking on plane.

A Karen was probably upset over something small and stupid. Zubov took issue with flight attendants telling them to stop. Then the team was kick off the flight for precautionary reasons.
Some players not wearing masks used as justification

The Karen is the person who was tweeting on the plane. She admitted that the cops told her not to film anything meaning there was nothing to record prior to cops getting on the plane. No officials saw anyone smoking or vaping, this information or i should call rumors were spreaded by Karen as well otherwise Russians would have been fined up to $5k according to rules in Canada.

Maybe the “Karens” were the people who were breaking the law and disturbing a whole plane full of people? Ridiculous.

If we’re stereotyping people, I think it’s more plausible that a bunch of teenage junior hockey players were acting like immature idiots more than anything else. Not sure why they would be given the benefit of the doubt.

I just told you, if laws were broken there would be fines and sentences handed out. That is how law is enforced. What we have is some kind of a conflict of two groups of passengers so Air Canada decided to just separate them by taking two teams out. BTW this Karen is a liar. She was tweeting with her phone throughout the whole ordeal, she easily could have filmed and posted videos as well, she had nothing outside of her claims.

You weren't there. You have no idea what happened. You talk about the "incident" as if you have inside details. You don't. Just because you believe one thing doesn't make what other people believe less true when nobody knows what truly happened. The fact that you and other people refer to a person tweeting about a situation that is affecting them while on a plane a "Karen" and a "liar" tells me all I need to know. Glad to know I can put you and several others on ignore and I won't be missing anything.

Didn’t I read somewhere that they were smoking cigarettes? Was it only E-cigs? I’m not saying that’s what they should be doing on a plane, but it’s completely normal that 18-19 year old kids smoke E-cigs. It’s not like these guys are chain smoking a box of cigarettes on a plane.
