Tampa, FL.
It wasn't just the money he didn't want to be stuck on the 4th line again.
I get that, but still seems like a pretty big mistake to let him go after what he did in Syracuse his last year there and what he did in flashes in Tampa in the very limited opportunity he was given in the one real season he had.

Cats advance but that series proved they're not some sort of unstoppable force. Still very beatable by many teams in this league.

Laviolette put on a coaching clinic. A decent goalie wins that series for the Caps in 5. Hopefully the rest of the league were taking notes and Florida gets bounced.

That series definitely reminded me a bit of the '15 and '16 Lightning teams which either won series or came close to winning them much more because of the sheer amount of talent on the roster and not nearly as much because of how the strategy implementation was. Cooper got worked by guys like Babcock and Therrien and lived to tell the story because of how much better his roster was than theirs. Not so lucky against the Blackhawks or Penguins who did have the talent to match.

I've never seen a red carpet been laid out for a team to win the Cup quite like Colorado this year. Whoever comes out of the BoA will be dead by the WCF. Same with the team from East who goes to the finals. On top of that they got the break of playing a Saros-less Predators team which likely doesn't get close to making the playoffs without their goalie in the regular season. They still would've beat them, but now they could do it without breaking a sweat.

All they gotta to is beat St. Louis and I think they're the favorites over all the other 3 teams combined left at that point.

If you cared you'd put it in the contract
The current SPC starts on page 310 (exhibit 1)

If the Player, in the judgment of the Club's physician, is disabled or is not in good
physical condition at the commencement of the season or at any subsequent time during the
season (unless such condition is the direct result of any injury sustained during the course of his
employment as a hockey Player with the Club, including travel with his team or on business
requested by the Club) so as to render him unfit to play skilled hockey, then it is mutually agreed
that the Club shall have the right to suspend the Player for such period of disability or unfitness,
and no compensation shall be payable for that period under this SPC.
Get way too out of shape, don't get paid.

also 8b

The Player further agrees that during the period of this SPC and during any period
when he is obligated under this SPC to enter into a further SPC with the Club, he will not make
public appearances, participate in radio or television programs, or permit his picture to be taken,
or write or sponsor newspaper or magazine articles, or sponsor commercial products without the
written consent of the Club which consent shall not be unreasonably withheld.
If fans seeing PK on TV convinces them to buy merchandise or tickets, that helps HRR.

It's been like that for a while now and they lay an egg in the 2nd round every time.

Yes, presumably the Sens have followed the standard player contract and prevent him from falling out of shape to the point he can't play skilled hockey -- something they actually care about. They haven't added a clause that he can't do TV -- something they don't actually care about.

That was a particulary dumb gotcha, FP. Even by your standards.

The discussion was on PK Subban joining ESPN, and that the current SPC seems to already give teams control over tv appearances.
