So I'll be rooting for getting one of those guys except McGroarty then :D Not a fan of the Bluesy choice in the first round.
Yeah McGroaty screams a bottom 6 player unless his skating improves by leaps and bounds then his potential is sky high. Definitely an interesting draft Miro would be awesome though the Russian factor might push people away.

I’m not shocked.

I don’t think Montreal made the right pick.

Though, it doesn’t matter much because Montreal can’t develop anyone worth a damn.

I personally had him above Wright. I just get Nico Hischier vibes from him, good but not great. I see more star power in Slaf
Perhaps, but Slaf was underwhelming much of the year and had couple great tournaments. His Liiga stats were far worse than other top picks (like Kakko) out of there.

Random note: I was breaking down the Blues history drafting recently and it’s absurd how good we are picking in the mid 1st to early 2nd on the forward side. In the last 20 years we’ve gotten:

- TJ Oshie (24th overall in 05)
- Patrick Berglund (25th overall in 06)
- David Perron (26th overall in 07)
- Jaden Schwartz (14th overall in 10)
- Vladimir Tarasenko (16th overall in 10)
- Robby Fabbri (21st overall in 14)
- Ivan Barbashev (33rd overall in 14)
- Tage Thompson (26th overall in 16)
- Jordan Kyrou (35th overall in 16)
- Robert Thomas (205) overall in 17)

Save for Fabbri, that’s 9 players who had 20 goal, 50 point seasons. That’s bonkers.

I really wish Fabbs didn't have those injuries.

And yet you have posters on this board who openly complain about “Bluesy” picks.

It’s just stupid. The Blues are clearly one of the better drafting teams in the league and have proven they know what they’re doing.

I’d love for the Blues to be able to get back into the second round since there’s some interesting players out there, but idk that much of an avenue exists.

Fabbri was on his way too if it weren't for the injuries

mcgroarty would've been my most desired forward out of that bunch lol
