The drawn out draw for the Champions League will be done tomorrow, the pots are known, the only debutant in the competition is Eintracht Frankfurt the Europa League winners. Rangers and Maccabi Haifa both return after a 10+ year absence. As mentioned in the qualifying thread, this is the first time a Turkish club will not be in the group stage since the 95/96 season.

POT 1: Real Madrid (ESP), Eintracht Frankfurt (GER), Manchester City (ENG), AC Milan (ITA), Bayern Munich (GER), Paris St. Germain (FRA), FC Porto (POR), Ajax (NED)

POT 2: Liverpool (ENG), Chelsea (ENG), Barcelona (ESP), Juventus (ITA), Atletico Madrid (ESP), Sevilla (ESP), RB Leipzig (GER), Tottenham (ENG)

POT 3: Borussia Dortmund (GER), Red Bull Salzburg (AUT), Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR), Inter Milan (ITA), Napoli (ITA), Benfica (POR), Sporting CP (POR), Bayer Leverkusen (GER)

POT 4: Rangers (SCO), Dinamo Zagreb (CRO), Marseille (FRA), FC Copenhagen (DEN), Club Brugge (BEL), Celtic (SCO), Viktoria Plzen (CZE), Maccabi Haifa (ISR)

Then and there
Frankfurt, Sevilla and Donetsk for OM please.

Whether they start the draw from Pot1 or Pot4, the later PSG and Marseille are drawn from their pot, the fewer options there will be for them.

With so many English, German, Spanish and Italian teams, there might be only one eligible group place for them if they are amongst the last 4 teams in their pot.

Best option for PSG would be to get either Leipzig or Juventus from Pot2, which would decrease the chances of getting one of the tougher teams from Pot3 by 50%.

Edit: Draw will start from Pot1

Just want to play new matchups/at least teams that they haven’t played under Klopp. Would never complain about Porto for example, but that would be a bit dull.

If they get another lousy draw, at least give Milan out of Pot 1 to dodge those Pot 3 Italian teams. Honestly would love to play Ajax because that’s an awesome away, and LFC have been very close to playing them several times under Klopp but have just missed them.

Teams that LFC have not played under Klopp. Last time played in parentheses.

- Frankfurt (1972)
- Leverkusen (2005)
- Sporting (never played)
- Shakhtar (never played)
- Brugge (1978)
- Zagreb (never played)
- Plzen (never played)
- Copenhagen (never played)
- Marseille (2008)
- Haifa (2006)

LFC aren’t beating anyone right now though so it doesn’t really matter. Just want some fun matchups.

New York
Frankfurt, Juventus, Shahktar, Celtic if we have any chance to progress. Ajax, Tottenham, Dortmund, Celtic would be some sick away trips and glamour ties.

These usually take at least an hour and a half because of all the guest interviews (and every year it’s the same people…Gullit, Mathaus etc) plus the awards

Dortmund will be in E, G or H. Unless it is the middle one, it will be a very tough draw for them.

Yes, Salzburg is not bad for Milan and Chelsea.

Edit: And Dortmund got that group.
