Can‘t see them going for Scherzer. Maybe if it wasn‘t for Sale, but it appears he‘s able to return faster than anticipated and in a bigger role than anticipated. Feels like Max would be an overkill.
I am not standing in their way if the price is right, though. I could even see them extending Scherzer beyond this year (he wants a multi-year extension), he‘s durable and not dramatically declining.
