Rags have a really tough road to get in. They will need some help, but if they make it in they will have earned it down the stretch and not be any fun to play against. Who cares, gotta play the cards that are dealt.

Except in some forms of poker where you can literally exchange your cards for new ones.

For what it's worth:

WSH

There's also a 0.03% chance of missing the playoffs according to hockeyviz.

Rangers have 6 games left. The only part of that that is a tough road are the 2 with the Caps. The Islanders and Bruins games are what they need/want to get in. Head to head chances to gain ground.

Well the PEns have us twice then four vs Buff and NJ, easier games. Point is they play playoff teams (the Rags do), so if they get in they will have earned it.

Yes, the Pens have an easier sched but the Rangers dont want one. If those 6 games were all Sabres and Devils and they won all 6 they would probably miss the playoff. They can win those 4 games v the Islanders and Bruins and get in. They might need a point or two off the Caps

Bruins are the easiest matchup. They're a very good team but for some reason it always feels like Caps know the solution for them. That said, goalies need to keep the team afloat during rough stretches otherwise even Bruins will smack them. Rangers are the toughest matchup. Penguins are the most exciting matchup. Islanders the most meh matchup. Voted Bruins but honestly would be more excited to face Rags and Pens.

Rangers are pretty much out of it. Would have to run the table 4-0 last four games (including 2 against us) and would still need a lot of help. 1 point by Boston in any of the 6 games ends any chance.

All 4 teams that clinched have pretty easy schedules. But whomever is fine.

4 days left and we still don't know who is going where. Anywhere.

There's a little more clarity.

The Islanders are almost surely going to be the 4th seed after last night's results. Boston would need to lose their next 3 in regulation and the Islanders would need to win their next 2 games in order for NYI to get the third seed. Moneypuck has NYI at 98.5% as the #4 seed.

Here is the entire Moneypuck odds for where each team will finish (updated this morning):
