When is the last time they picked someone higher because he have a French sounding name? Jacob Leguerrier is the only one and was 5th round in 2019?

If anything, Bergevin/Timmins are getting hate for not picking players from here.

Rafael Harvey-Pinard in 2019, last year they went US heavy, but remember the French Canadian rule goes back to the very early days of the NHL where it was a real life rule that the Habs had right of first refusal for French Canadian players.

Let me guess… your perfect right?
No one's perfect. Just as no one's free of consequensens their actions bring.

Now I'm not saying Mailloux shouldn't ever play in the NHL but since the victim apparently wasn't too happy with his apology maybe another year to mature and think about his actions would be good for him before getting drafted. Just a very tone deaf pick that's all.

1. Quebecois aren't a race, they aren't even an ethnic group. They are a loosely defined cultural group.
2. My family traces back to Montreal since 1690. To the point I have as recent as a great grandfather that taught at McGill.
3. None of that doesn't make it true that the Habs favor French Canadian players.

That's just SO untrue, what are you even talking about? lol

So this chick gives Logan a blow*** and he takes a picture and sends it to people and now people expect him to ruin the one thing he has probably worked for his entire life, over a mistake? You cancel culture people are something else. Nobody in real world gives a flying **** about a blow***. This is hockey. Grow up.

People aren't upset about the fact that the sexual act happened, bucko. They are upset about the unauthorized distribution of electronic pictures of the act, do try to keep up.

Then stop acting like this will follow the girl around the rest of her life and keep her from getting jobs, having a family, friends, etc.

What Logan did was wrong. Obviously but some of the reactions on here over the pick are ludacris.

Minny
Minny won the draft in my opinion

i'm super happy. i mean it doesn't take a lot of deep insight to pounce on a player that should have never dropped to us but we did refrain from trading our entire future for Jack Eichel. Solid "A" results.

They picked Harvey-Pinard in the 7th round, with the 201st overall pick... And he was pretty good for a 1st year in the AHL this year, so saying they only picked him because of his name is just none sense!

I have a daughter and son.

I would be extremely disappointed in my daughter if she found herself in a vulnerable position with some asshole hockey player she doesn't even know.

Not excusing Mailleauxs actions, but I don't approve of casual sex with strangers either.
Would you be more angry towards your daughter or the asshole hockey player who sends a pic of her giving the bj with links to her social medias?

lol, he's not going to prison as a minor for sharing a nude without consent. Jesus dude.
People need to realize how commonplace this thing actually is. Idk if the reactions here are just from older people without kids and are out of touch, but the stats on teenagers sexting and "revenge porn" are staggering.

From the googles: At least 1 in 4 teens are receiving sexually explicit texts and emails. At least 1 in 7 are sending sexts. More than 1 in 10 teens are forwarding sexts without consent.

I'm obviously not condoning it but just get some perspective.

Not sure ruining their lives over it is the solution, because you're looking at hundreds of thousands of kids. But maybe start holding the platforms like Snapchat responsible for the environments they are creating. Maybe don't give children cameras and send them to their rooms. Idk. Idk the solution but I know it's not banning this kid from the league.

Why was what he did wrong, exactly? I know. I don't think you do though.

I'm not saying to ruin his life. I'm not saying it will necessarily ruin the girl's life either, BUT, you need to not be so casual about it, given that these kinds of situations, particularly at the ages involved (teenagers), lead to depression, bullying and suicide ALL THE TIME.

I'm not saying that will happen in this case. But it is serious, and has the potentially to be extremely negative to her life depending on who she is around and how that network reacts.

Staggering doesn't begin to describe it. Go to any porn site and type in tic tok or revenge porn and it's all there for the world to see.

I still remember Raphael HP from dev camp. What an absolute wild card!
