They think very poorly of Hughes IQ and hockey sense like worse than Barrie bad.... They also think Edvinsson has no IQ/sense concerns, which is why he is so high in their ratings.

and there is no way you can make a top 5 skating list without Beniers. His edges are already elite, like NHL level good already. As a skater he is Jack Hughes level skater and that's saying a lot from me.

Didnt realize hughes was an elite skater like his brothers. I thought he was just very good.

Anyone have a comparison to prior drafts for what a 9 or 10 looks like?
Drysdale was a 9 or 10 I believe if I remember correctly.

Then he was a 8 or 9 I'd have to find my book in the garage.

I know interviews with teenagers probably shouldn’t super important… but Clarke seems a bit off to me… he seems arrogant and just plain annoying…

He can also look horrible defensively, probably stemming from his skating. He looks like someone who would be a #5 dman PP specialist in his Slovakian games.

Looking into players as the draft gets closer, there are some reports on the top 10 that worry me… like Scoutchings review on Powers and Johnson… YIKES!

I think this vid is a bit flawed. He said that Gallant put him out to not make mistakes in WC. I watched Semis and Finals live and I think he was a stallwart in defense.
Scoutching says he get beat physically but he had a recent growth spurt and he plays against way older players in NCAA and WC.
I get some critique about lack of agressiveness or offense, but cmon.

I would take Power happily if Buffalo takes Eklund and Seattle takes Beniers and enjoy

Power-Drysdale (Meant for eachother)
Lindholm-Fowler (Fowler has played RHD and I think they would be great together)
Benoit-Manson (Smash line)

Power has the same issues Drysdale did his year... He is way too good for the league he is playing in thus seeming (lazy, etc.) When Drysdale played in games that mattered he was a whole different player (Drysdale was a whole different monster playing for Canada and games that mattered). I see that same thing with Power, in playoffs and WC he was incredible.

Anyone else find it insane that Power has not been interviewed by Buffalo yet?

Have Lindholm and Fowler ever been paired together for an extended period of time?

Are you sure?

That does sound weird, albeit there is lots of time before the draft and he is the consensus #1 so they might be purposefully leaving him towards the end and just get the better picture of everyone else first.
It is weird though, but not sure if it means anything big. That's Buffalo anyway

Not really. I'm sure someone has access to most common linemates by TOI, but across 3 different coaches and rotating D partners, the Ducks have been consistent in keeping Lindholm and Fowler apart barring emergency turtling or PKs.

No we haven't been in a position to have that luxury.

Lol Just after you made more ok with McTavish if he's picked by the Ducks.

Eklund I hope is the next Zetterberg.
Imagine an all swede line of Eklund/Lundestrom/Rakell
Haha, yes. And I had a Johnson hype train before McTavish.

McTavish and Johnson are still very good prospects and I would be very sad for anyone of them going to SJ or LA. But Eklund seems to have been very good (I wonder how he compares to Kaprizov). He had aa slower end of the year but he had Covid and that other injury so that must have left an impact. If we get him, we get a really smart and skilled winger.

EDIT: Pronman just said CZE/FIN/SWE/SUI will have an U-20 tournament next week. Perhaps a good chance to catch Eklund. That being said, the summer tournaments are probably a bad place to make serious assumptions.

Eklund is injured, I believe.

Fitting in well with the Ducks :sarcasm:

His injury-proneness I guess could be a factor in evaluating him, but I don't think there are any concerns right now. Covid is not an injury (given that he fully recovered)

Ya he was quoted saying Buffalo had not interviewed him.

No we haven't been in a position to have that luxury.

Which is weird. I know Cam can play the right side, so you figure at some point they would have tried them together.

Yeah any leftover of Johnson/McTavish/Eklund goes to SJ.
Johnson or Eklund gives them a much needed playmaker missing since Jumbo fell off a cliff and McTavish gives them a Center who puts the Puck in the Net like Pavelski, could see McT having 40 goal seasons like Pavelski.

LA I feel picks BPA Dman but they could always use Johnson/McTavish/Eklund exclusively as Wingers with their deep center prospect core.
