Koster was added with 4 votes. Vote for who to add next.

1. Each poll will be open for 24 hours.

2. As we never have a consensus way as to which players are still considered prospects, we'll be using my way (at least for the first few polls). The player must be U24 and have less than 50 GP in the NHL. The "prospects" that are left off because of these rules are Joey Anderson, Brennan Menell, Adam Brooks, Joseph Duszak, Vladimir Bobylev, and Nickolai Chebykin.

3. At this time we'll stick to the top-20, but if we want to go to 25 or 30 (I believe the Leafs have just over 30 guys that are eligible) I'll definitely go further.

Rankings:
1. Rasmus Sandin - 53.2%
2. Nick Robertson - 50.9%
3. Timothy Liljegren - 56.9%
4. Rodion Amirov - 90.6%
5. Topi Niemela - 62.1%
6. Matthew Knies - 45.4%
7. Roni Hirvonen - 61.1%

Kokkonen should be higher than Knies. I don’t think ppl get how good this kid is..

Meh. I think virtually this entire tier (Niemela, Knies, Hirvonen, Abramov, Miettinen, and Kokkonen) are interchangeable except I do think Niemela is closest to seperating himself and joining the "top-tier" guys.

If anyone else goes over Kokko but these guys I'd say people are definitely underrating him.

Guys like Craig Button would be freaking out about Abruzzese not being in the Top 5. Good prospect but looks like he'll end up in the right spot here.

Still don't get the abramov love. He doesn't even have Bracco level numbers. Nowhere near Timashov numbers.

In his D+1 year he had 76 pts in 63 games. The next best player on his team only had 41. He was on a trash team. Abramov has pretty versatile arsenal of skills and has decent size at 6' , 185lbs. At the WJC he also showed some bite to his game. I like his chances of being an NHLer

Bracco was a very highly touted skilled player at the time of the draft and he played on the Kitchener Rangers who are usually one of the power houses of the OHL. Other than the power play Bracco offered absolutely nothing to the game and didn't play 2 way hockey. Timashov was a good prospect and had good numbers on decent teams. I think in his case he didnt have any standout qualities like breakaway speed to help him at the NHL level. At his size that doesn't bode well for him.

I'm interested to see how Abramov does with the Marlies this year. If he doesn't show whole lot, then people's expectations will be tempered a bit.

This seems irrelevant. Isn't the NHL is full of useful players (none of them named Bracco BTW) who have never had Bracco level numbers?

Pavel Gogolev D2 - 63 games - 96 points - 125 point pace over 82

Mikhail Abramov D2 - 44 games - 54 points - 100 point pace over 82 (playoffs included)

Good point.

Age 17

Abramov 20gl/72pt pace
Gogolev 37gl/58pt pace

Age 18

Abramov 46gl/99pt pace
Gogolev 18gl/51pt pace

Age 19

Abramov 32gl/101pt pace
Gogolev 59gl/125pt pace

Age 20 (AHL)

Abramov ???
Gogolev 38gl/76pt pace

Gogolev obviously had that one awful year between two teams at age 18, but otherwise his track record kinda just looks better?

I wonder why SDA doesn't get any love.

Dubas mentioned him in his presser as being a prospect of significance.

big picture - the leafs drafted Kokkonen ahead of Abramov, and since the draft Kokkonen has been a solid player in a bigtime men's league in both years since - and has been a full time key member of finland's WJC team both years as well - in a bigger role than Abramov ever had for the russian wjc team. And of course Kokkonen had a very impressive debut in the AHL last year too, at age 19.

Not sure why anyone would think Abramov has jumped ahead of Kokkonen since draft day.

SDA
Age 17 - 62 point pace
Age 18 - 61 point pace
Age 19 - 112 point pace

SDA's D2 is better than Abramov's as well. It looks like Abramov was a better player in his draft and draft+1 seasons than SDA and Gogolev. SDA and Gogolev had poor draft+1 seasons.

I think he gets snubbed because of his inability to score goals even at a junior aged level in comparison with his peers. More of a straight playmaker. People are rightfully skeptical on how that will translate to the NHL level. His poor draft+1 pumped the brakes on the hype train as well.

Not really. Bracco's numbers were never very good.

That's interesting, I thought he put up good numbers and was known as a guy who could put up points but sucked on D. Anyhow, I don't follow our prospects so I guess I'll have to take your word for it.

Much like abramov, he has a reputation for offense but not the numbers to back it up. Though he had better numbers than Abramov.

Bracco at age 21 had 79 points in 75 games. I think we can agree considering his age and level that’s pretty good. There was reason to be optimistic at that point and then the next year everything went down hill.

If any of the upcoming prospects get 79 points in 75 games in the AHL everyone will be optimistic for them.
