the bolts should have left off stamkos, and sergachev just to preserve the third line..

the bolts won the cup without stamkos..

looking at last nights game, its obvious they made a mistake...

The thing I hated most about him toward the end is the engine that defined his early career just isn't there anymore.

I'll spare quoting the guy, but I did have to laugh when I saw this on the main board thread about Johnson.

"Cat and Kane will handle the scoring while Johnson does the dirty work and covers for Kane’s disinterest in defense."

I mean, do we (general "we") sound like this when we talk about others teams players and don't even realize it? Because any Lightning fan reading that would've immediately recognized that as complete nonsense, that if there's any part of Johnny's game we're most disappointed about from his final years here, it was that he was CONSTANTLY slacking in the defensive phase. If that guy was hoping the Blackhawks would put a responsible 2-way center between Kane and DeBrincat...Johnny ain't that guy and there's no reason to think he ever will be again.

It's such a silly thread in general anyway. Three months ago, 31 other teams and their fans were saying "it'll take a 1st round pick for us to take him off your hands", and suddenly before he played a game in Chicago he's a worthwhile player again? People really think other fans have the memory of goldfishes.

I think that we basically know on here that we're Lightning specialists, and that talking about other teams players is either recency bias or wishful thinking.

I made precisely this point in that thread. The same thing happened with Gourde, though to a lesser extent, before the PO started he had an albatross contract and TB would have to add sweeteners to get rid of him. In fact, the same was said about Killer. There's also this creeping narrative that we lost a third of our roster, never mind that number includes a terrible backup goalie who played zero PO games, an easily replaceable #7Dman, Savard who wasn't very good for us and the aforementioned TJ.

Good question. It appears Charles Hudon is hurt. Was hit hard in Friday's game and sat out Saturday's game. Daniel Walcott was also scratched for Saturday's game. Then there's Simon Ryfors, but he wasn't that good in preseason and has 0 points and -3 in his first 2 games with Syracuse. So maybe Gabriel Dumont is the most likely candidate? Some of the prospect guys might be too inexperienced at this time.

He should just make sure he'll be ready for the playoffs again, in the mean time just add a third line again.....wouldn't want to be under the cap for any reason

If Boston can continue to be a playoff team with only 1 line we SHOULD be able to snag a 3rd seed. It comes down to Hedman and Vasi now. Unfortunately our Defence has looked awful so far.

Cirelli is not a goal scorer, Killorn should give his usual high-teens goals. Our PP becomes one dimensional now cause teams will just take away the Stamkos one timer.

JBB might have to hit the panic button and try and acquire someone early (once we find out how long Kuch is actually out for ofcourse)

Unless Colton or those kids can start magically producing our offence is in the toilet now. Point had an off season without Kuch last year.

Stick Point and Stammer together and we might be able to get some good offence out of the top line, at least.

Its bad when you have Perry on your first line and Maroon on your 3rd. Both should not be anywhere near the top 9...

I got faith we will make the playoffs wildcard/ 3rd seed I just know we are gonna have games when he struggle to score goals and our power play takes a big hit
