the NFL can’t do a bubble. It’s too many people and resources. Unless they went out to the middle of South Dakota and built an enormous facility. They’d have to build themselves their own small town.
They actually considered that a few months ago -- putting up a bunch of fields and housing on some island off South Carolina.

The NFL could do a bubble but there would have to be at least 4 bubble locations and they would probably have to delay the start of the season to figure out the logistics and come up with a compatible scheduling format. But I think they would rather take their chances at players contracting Covid and operating mostly as usual than come up with a safer option that would cost them revenue. The players probably wouldn't go for it either.
NHL teams have like 50 people each in the bubble but 1/3 of the teams will be gone in 2 weeks from the bubble.

NFL, would be trying to secure an entire season. And their group of people would have to be like 125-160 or something per team.

Not seeing their families for 6 months wouldn’t fly either. And then you’re talking about actual NFL employees who would have to be included in the bubble.

The fact that the NFL still scheduled only one bye week per team will inevitably become a problem.

It would easier bubbling every team and their families in their home town. They only have to travel 8 times which is easier to lockdown. But that is still a massive undertaking. Can you find a hotel to book for a couple hundred people for a few months? Or do you make a shanty town of RVs in the practice facility parking lot?

I don't think finding hotel space for them will be much of a challenge these days.

A single venue you can lockdown for six months with enough ammenities tokeep peoplefrom going stir crazy? Plus one team is in Vegas so would one hotel be willin to forgo it Casino revenue?

I think it's possible, but even then it's not easy.

Looks like this may be on the table.

If the NFL was really interested in a season with as little risk as possible they'd do a hybrid of the baseball plan with a bubble and actual protocols unlike baseball. Cut the season to ten games, have teams only play their division twice and the geographic crossover once then have a neutral site playoffs in one location like the NBA and NHL. But they'll never do it, they'll dare the virus to destroy them before they lop off six games or spend the money for four or more geographic bubbles.
