2020 HFBoards NHL Forward Rankings #1

Well its the start of the offseason (In late September) and time for some rankings if people are interested. Thought a good ole pissing match of ranking the top forwards in the league would be a good idea. Lets keeper civil and rank em how ya want: You can project the next season, the next couple a years, but probably wanna base it MOSTLY off how they have done esp most recently. Plain and simple rank the top forwards of the league.

I will list the first poll by leaders in points from the 2019-20 season

#1 should be obvious but will get more interesting after that!

Please state if you think another player should be added for the next poll , lots of great forwards who didnt get as many pts as the guys in the poll like Barkov, Bergeron Tkachuk Toews Etc

Add Coots, he's better than some of the options here. Patches is an especially weak option. I'm actually worried to see his name over guys like Coots or Bergeron, and more guys

If Kucherov had repeated his 128 point season this year (adjusted for ~70 games) - he'd be above McDavid.
If Drai repeats his performance next year - I'll also rank him above McDavid.

Until proven otherwise though - Connor McDavid gets his grace period and is #1. Quite easily.

As for the poll,

It's obviously Mcdavid followed by MacKinnon || Then after that it's Crosby for me but it could be Draisaitl or Kucherov too.

Ovechkin shouldn't go top 10. But I easily pick him over Stone (for 1 year - maybe not "moving forward" due to age). I also take him above Marchand, but it's close.

As for Panarin and Pasta - it depends. I probably rank him last among those - but one thing Ovechkin has above them is consistency. Every year without fail he's good for a ~50 goal season, and leading the league in goals. Panarin had a fantastic season - but is it repeatable? He's never produced close to that level before, will it be a one off year? If he reverts back to his level of production from the year prior, give me Ovi. Pasta - same idea.

I think he's comparable to Kane, and Marchand.

Problem with OV potentially going top 10 but you put Crosby at 6th? Same Crosby who no showed the last 2 playoffs? Same OV who was better than Crosby in the last 3 playoffs? Same OV who finished ahead of Crosby in hart voting 2 of the last 3 seasons?
