I think guaranteed contracts will always be the #1 thing for NFL players. Every other major sport has them including hockey which is just as physical. Their biggest obstacle will continue to be their own members though. When you have a ton of players who don't trust the PA at all, it's hard to pass sweeping changes.still puzzles me that the PA didn't get franchise tags removed from the cba. but In guess it only impacts a dozen players a year so not going to die on it.
Never going to guarantee anything more than 3 years like cousins. Even Wilson only got the equivalent of 3 year average salary guaranteed.I think guaranteed contracts will always be the #1 thing for NFL players. If they wanted guaranteed contracts the players would have to give up so much elsewhere that it wouldn't be worth it.Never going to guarantee anything more than 3 years like cousins. Even Wilson only got the equivalent of 3 year average salary guaranteed.
Veteran won’t be showing up for Off season workouts on a tag. They can tag him but they need to agree on an extension. Never good to be tagging guys who are not coming off their rookie contracts. They know what Green can do. Either you live with his injury history the past couple of years or you let him hit the market.Looks like AJ Green will get the Bengals franchise tag. Good target for Burrow to throw to provided Green stays healthy.

They have to a certain date to come to a long term deal after the player gets tagged before the only option for the player is to either sign the tag and play or sit out.Their is no contract negotiations if they are tagged. The player is given a one year contract at the average of the top 5 players at his position. In this case Green would getsView attachment 332029
He gets what all recievers under the tag would get and can negotiate during the season or next off season.
