The Canucks have the most egregious cap situation in the entire NHL, but the Leafs aren't far behind.

Their team is built like an NBA franchise, with big money going to Matthews, Marner and Tavares. Dubas tried to plug the holes with veterans like Thornton and Simmonds on team-friendly deals, but they really did nothing in this series.

And the difference, as it always is was goaltending. Jack Campbell was a career minor-leaguer who rose to the role of backup in L.A. before the Leafs rescued him. Carey Price on the other hand, is one of the NHL's elite goaltenders.

Wasn't that impressed with the Leafs when they lost to the Canucks twice coming out of the COVID break. Not entirely shocked they choked in the playoffs.

I don’t think they are going to be giving Marner away and I don’t think we have what they’ll want.

Marner for Jones seems too obvious but it also makes CBJ so weak on defense.
