Sancho is the only Dortmund wing blocking Pulisic.

Well when their coach will only play either of them on the right side, that's a huge obstacle. Sancho is better at what Favre wants out of the position: beating defenders one on one and passing the ball in the middle. Pulisic's dribbling is far more simple and not suited for that style. Sarri is also more likely to be flexible and play Pulisic centrally or on the left.

Don't they play on opposite sides usually?

Pulisic was a starter at the beginning of the season. He didnt play well, so Favre started to change Sancho's position from the left side to the right. The weakness of Pulisic is, that he always has his head down. Many times he doesnt see the Player in better postion. Instead he trys to dribble through 2 players and often looses the ball.

I'm not, but he's not a winger.

Yes he is no natural winger. But he played at RW in the game against Osnabrück pretty well.

Pulisic will absolutely be a solid upgrade on an aging and declining Willian. Willian was never the quickest player to begin with, and now he pretty much just floats around not contributing much if he doesn't have the ball, and he hasn't been getting into great positions to even get the ball this season.
