My fave thread of the year! Thanks so much for all the work keeping up with it, it’s very much appreciated. I’m so glad to see the rookie rosters starting to appear today too.

I'm not sure I've seen one like that, either. The only one I can imagine might have looked similar would be the one year when Anaheim had the really toned-down rookie camp with no games, nobody allowed in to watch the games.

On Acadie-Bathurst's game sheet for their exhibition game the other night, they had Adam Capannelli and Yaroslav Likhachev listed as the NHL property of Ottawa and Arizona, respectively. Since neither was drafted or signed by their respective teams, I surmised that they are camp invites.

Charts are all updated, near as I can tell BTW

My fave thread of the year! Thanks so much for all the work keeping up with it, it’s very much appreciated. I’m so glad to see the rookie rosters starting to appear today too.

Has that ever happened where an entire rookie roster had no pure invites? The AHL guys technically are invites but I’m not sure I’ve seen that.

The only true example I can conjure was the Tampa Bay Lightning 2015 Rookie Camp --> Lightning Prepare for Prospect Tournament in Estero. Not a single invite, no one on AHL deals, all signed/reserve list players.

However, there have been several examples (in the last 5 years at least) that fit the mold of "AHL guys technically being invites" but where the AHL guys are the only invites:

Anaheim Ducks: 2019 Development Camp --> Ducks Announce 2019 Prospect Development Camp
No technical invites whatsoever, however, Hunter Drew, Roman Durny, Brent Gates Jr., and Steven Ruggiero (all Ducks' draft picks) all eventually signed AHL deals with their affiliate in San Diego.
-----------
Edmonton Oilers: 2018 Development Camp --> Twenty-four players to attend Oilers Development Camp from June 25-28
Only invite was Logan Day, who had already been signed to an AHL deal with their affiliate in Bakersfield.

Philadelphia Flyers: 2018 Development Camp --> https://nhl.bamcontent.com/images/assets/binary/299267824/binary-file/file.pdf
"Invites" were James De Haas (already signed to an AHL deal) and David Drake (Flyers' draft pick, signed to an AHL deal).
-----------
Carolina Hurricanes: 2017 Training Camp --> http://nhl.bamcontent.com/images/assets/binary/291032704/binary-file/file.pdf
Only invite was Nick Schilkey, who had already been signed to an AHL deal with their affiliate in Charlotte.

Winnipeg Jets: 2017 Training Camp --> http://jets.nhl.com/v2/ext/files/pdf/20170913_TC_ScheduleRoster.pdf
All invites were Francis Beauvillier, Patrice Cormier, Kirill Gotovets, Peter Stoykewych, and Brody Sutter, all of whom were previously signed to AHL deals with their affiliate in Manitoba.
-----------
Buffalo Sabres: 2016 Rookie Camp --> http://sabres.nhl.com/v2/ext/2016-1...lo Sabres 2016 Prospects Challenge Roster.pdf
All invites were Paul Geiger, Matthew Lane, and Daniel Muzito-Bagenda, all of whom were previously signed to AHL deals with their affiliate in Rochester.

Buffalo Sabres
: 2016 Training Camp --> http://sabres.nhl.com/v2/ext/2016-1.../Buffalo Sabres 2016 Training Camp Roster.pdf
All invites were Mac Bennett, Paul Geiger, Matthew Lane, John Muse, Daniel Muzito-Bagenda, and Tyson Strachan, all of whom were previously signed to AHL deals with their affiliate in Rochester.
-----------
Nashville Predators: 2015 Training Camp --> http://predators.nhl.com/v2/ext/01_2015-16_Files/2015 Training Camp Roster.pdf
All invites were Frederick Gaudreau, Jimmy Oligny, Joe Pendenza, Eric Robinson, and Brandon Whitney, all of whom were previously signed to AHL deals with their affiliate in Milwaukee. Note: Trevor Murphy was listed as an invite, but was signed to an entry-level contract with Nashville the day training camp opened.

Vancouver Canucks: 2015 Training Camp --> http://canucks.nhl.com/v2/ext/Training Camp Roster (Vets).pdf
All invites were Carter Bancks, Travis Ehrhardt, Wacey Hamilton, John Kurtz, and John Negrin, all of whom were previously signed to AHL deals with their affiliate in Utica.
-----------
Carolina Hurricanes: 2014 Training Camp --> http://hurricanes.nhl.com/v2/ext/training camp/TCRoster14-15.pdf
Only invites were Kyle Hagel, and Chad Larose, both of whom were previously signed to AHL deals with their affiliate in Charlotte.

Columbus Blue Jackets: 2014 Training Camp (link does not work anymore)
All invites were Mike DiPaolo, Mike Hoeffel, Hubert Labrie, Scott Munroe, Brett Ponich, Jaime Sifers, Trent Vogelhuber, and Riley Wetmore, all of whom were previously signed to AHL deals with their affiliate in Springfield.

Last year Dallas had 3 invites in Gleason (who they signed after Traverse), McCormick, Popovich. Thought that was pretty good.

The Sabres rarely have invites under Botterill...they never had them under Tim Murray.
