My fave thread of the year! Thanks so much for all the work keeping up with it, it’s very much appreciated. I’m so glad to see the rookie rosters starting to appear today too.
Has that ever happened where an entire rookie roster had no pure invites? The AHL guys technically are invites but I’m not sure I’ve seen that.
The only
true example I can conjure was the
Tampa Bay Lightning 2015 Rookie Camp -->
Lightning Prepare for Prospect Tournament in Estero. Not a single invite, no one on AHL deals, all signed/reserve list players.
However, there have been several examples (in the last 5 years at least) that fit the mold of "AHL guys technically being invites" but where the AHL guys are the
only invites:
Anaheim Ducks: 2019 Development Camp -->
Ducks Announce 2019 Prospect Development Camp
No technical invites whatsoever, however, Hunter Drew, Roman Durny, Brent Gates Jr., and Steven Ruggiero (all Ducks' draft picks) all eventually signed AHL deals with their affiliate in San Diego.
