Girardi is pretty damn bad so obviously no one gave him a contract. Hedman was just barely able to make him look like an NHL player.

What the hell are you talking about? He did fine for what he brought to the team. You really do have some of the worst takes.

What if dom does not get claimed lol we will still have too many goalies!
That could be the best scenario for us, as we keep Domingue and we can hope some team ask to trade for him during the season (injuries, bad backup,...)

Why there hasn't still been the official "Louis Domingue has been put on waivers" announcement? It's 12:12PM already

It's the first day for waivers so there's probably going to be a glut of guys around the league waived today. Dom and Condon have been waived though.

I get that he just retired but you can’t actually believe he was a good defenseman. He worked ok thanks to Hedman but in any other situation he wouldn’t have done shit. Definitely not worth the 3 mil we were paying him. We could’ve signed any league minimum Dman to do the same thing he did.

Girardi was at his best when getting 3rd pairing minutes with Coburn. He did fine there. The contract wasn't good by any means but it didn't give us any trouble so who cares?

Good for him. Solid career, shot blocking machine and a good stay-at-home d-man especially in the Torts days with the Rangers. That said, he was definitely on the back 9 and was, at best, our #6 imo. Best of luck to him in retirement, I wonder if he will end up sticking around in a different capacity down the road.

Also surprised we didn't get anything for Domingue. Would figure someone would come calling for a backup at some point.
