I'm guessing Ottawa simply coveted Brannstrom much more than Vaak, in the end it takes two to make a deal.

Hoping we end up grabbing a Hoffman or something otherwise this was a dud deadline.

Brannstom was 15th overall and worth more than the comparable pick since now he's 2 years more mature.
He's like the youngest player in the AHL and putting up decent numbers.

There is no doubt in my mind that the B’s could have matched/beaten the overall package, but that the Sens weren’t dealing him here.
