Justin Verlander… no hitter through 6 in Toronto.

Man, to think.... people thought this guy was washed up a few years ago.
He not only made the adjustments necessary to stay relevant in the league, but he has put himself back in the elite echelon of pitchers in the Majors with quality outings one after another.
And today, he may make some history yet again.

Verlander continues his no hitter, now through 7 full innings of play.
93 pitches thrown, so will be interesting to see how far his manager will let him go. I would imagine the PC would be irrelevant if Verlander is still comfortable out there.

Fantastic pitching line:
7IP, 0 R, 0ER, 0 H, 1 BB, 10 K

Tampa Bay continues to keep Cleveland in check.
4-1 with the Rays coming to bat in the bottom half of the 7th.

If this score holds, the A's win in NY, and Min beats the Tigers (currently ahead 6-2), the Indians will find themselves OUT of their wild card positions, with the A's n Rays holding them...and Cleveland will also find itself 5.5 games behind the Twins in the Central.

Those are the sorts of things that happen if brooms are broken out.... :naughty:

DJ Carassco enters the game for the Indians to nice standing ovation not only from the mixed TB/Cle crowd, but by players in both dug outs as well.
Classy.

Now.....the Rays can go about trying to get a couple runs off him.
