The first conference tournament championship game is set. Lipscomb will host Liberty for the A-Sun auto bid. I think there's an outside chance that Lipscomb gets an at-large if they lose, but obviously, they'd be better off winning at home on Sunday. Each team won on the other team's home court in the regular season.

As mentioned in the regular season thread, I think Lipscomb could win an NCAA Tournament game if they make it. They can really score.

Feel bad for our neighbor in Newark.

This was NJIT's greatest season ever. That program is certainly on the rise.

Update:

Murray State beat Belmont yesterday to win the Ohio Valley. If you haven't seen Ja Morant play (potential top five pick), you're in for a treat. Belmont will be sweating it out on Selection Sunday.

Gardner-Webb wins the Big South for their first ever NCAA Tournament bid. Campbell, who is also in the Big South, lost in the semis. They were the top seed. Chris Clemons led the nation in scoring, so it would have been exciting to see him in the dance.

Another star from a lower conference will miss the dance as well. Mike Daum and South Dakota State lost to a 9-20 Western Illinois in the Summit League quarters. The Jackrabbits easily win the regular season title, but they're going to the NIT.

The MVC title game is going on now. The A-Sun starts soon.

Another team from a smaller conference will be sweating it out on Selection Sunday, as Furman lost to UNC Greensboro yesterday. The Paladins beat Villanova earlier this year, and they have a net rating of 41. But they have a bad home loss (not margin, but a not so good team) against Samford, they only have four wins against Quad 1 and Quad 2 combined and their SOS numbers are horrible. But they pass the eye test. Let's see what the committee does with them (and Belmont and Lipscomb).

Wofford faces UNCG in the SoCon finals tonight. The Terriers are already in regardless. There is a chance for THREE SoCon teams in if UNCG wins tonight (very very small chance, but it's a chance regardless).

Monmouth faces Iona for the MAAC auto bid tonight as well. The winner can book a flight to Dayton.

Last post for now...

I don't get the love for NC State. I don't care that they have 21 wins. I don't care that their net rating is 32nd. Sure, they beat Auburn, but their only other Quad 1 win is a neutral court win against Penn State (who finished 10th in the Big Ten). They have the SECOND WORST non-conference SOS out of 353 D-I teams. Joe Lunardi has them in right now as team #65. The bubble is historically bad though, so the 21 wins and .500 record in ACC play might get it done. Still, that non-conference SOS is hard to ignore.

Got Friday morning off from work and found a lone single on the primary market for the Thursday night session.

#PiratesAfterDark, Mecca style.

If we aren't already safe, then a win vs. Georgetown will seal it.

Wofford finished on a 20-3 run to storm back against UNC Greensboro to clinch the SoCon automatic bid. The Terriers were in regardless, but still. UNCG and Furman will be watching closely on Sunday to see if their names are called.
