Playing 3 on 3 now. Svechnikov got a breakaway just over 2 minutes in and scored on a nice forehand backhand roof move. Seems they're going to continue playing the entire 5 minutes 3 on 3.

IDK. I've heard it's a competition between him and Berdin but nobody really seems to know. Other posters, from Russia would probably give you a better answer than me

Some times they just play the 3 on 3 OT and shoot outs just to ge more practice in.

They had chances.. But it was a very closed game.. Denmark mostly sat in their Zone and all game.. There were no breakaways or odd man rushes, very little room for creativity

Hey guys, I’m American but to be honest I feel like this year Russia is going for gold. Not exactly sure why just a gut feeling. I’m a devils fan and I’m very excited to watch Maltsev as I’ve heard a lot of good things. Can anyone give a scouting report on what kind of player he is?

The rink for the Denamrk game looked smaller than regulation, someone please correct me if Im wrong. The game was choppy for both sides, none of the Russian lines looked particularly good. Melnichuk is good, the 2nd goal was no chance for him. I expect it will flip flop between Berdin and Melnichyuk, both are solid if one has a soft game the other is going in. Like Samsonov and Georgiev (reminded of nightmare gold medal game decision).

Maltsev is similar to Anisimov, big bodied guy with some skill, lots of compete and defensive awareness.

Down 1-0 to Slovakia after 1 period. #21(I think Ruzicka) with a really nice play to score for Slovakia. Pretty even period.

2-0 Slovakia after 2 as they got a PP goal early in the period. Russia was the much better team that period though, they poured it on as the period progressed, Slovakia generated basically nothing in the 2nd half of the period. But their goalie is playing really well.
