I'm excited to see how the defense looks. Adding a top D prospect in Smith really helps as there may be less pressure on Walsh, Sissons, Chainey, Bernard going forward.

If you get Smith to pan out and even just one other guy, you're looking real good

What I think our RW lines will be out of camp.

Palms - Bratt - Anderson-Noesen. We are very thin at RW as it is

Anderson is better than everyone else and more NHL ready that I have not listed

Yea It is Mikey or Joey's spot to lose imo. And then if they both dont work out someone like Lappin or Speers would be given another chance

Don’t think it is anybodies to lose. Mikey and Joey are just better players so they should be able to beat the likes of Speers and Lappin.

If somehow those two have killer camps they will win the spot.

Ah yeah I mean that I'm sure the devils would probably like one of those two to step up and get a spot compared to others

i'm thinking worst case for joey A. yeah, NCAA most def preps you for older competition, but i also feel like management might give the tastes to the "veteran" rookies who've been already here (mcleod and speers primarily actually, not lappin).

mcleod should most def get a full look, since the only action he got was in the box

I recall @StevenToddIves being very bullish on Anderson's potential. Hope he's right

Yeah, you recall correctly. That was my favorite pick of the entire 2016 Devils draft. If a team had taken Joey in the late first round, I would have thought it was a good pick. The fact that NJ nabbed him in the third was downright larceny. I think he's going to be a very nice hybrid of TJ Oshie and Ryan Callahan, the perfect second-line RW and a leader on the Devils for many seasons to come.

I'm ready for another Reilly Walsh hype train

Though the Devils prospect pool on D could still stand some deepening, Walsh is definitely in the mix. Here's how I'd rank them right now:

1 Ty Smith
2 Egor Yakovlev
3 Reilly Walsh
4 Steve Santini
5 Xavier Bernard

I'd say Smith is clear cut atop the mix, as a potential all-star D in the NHL. Two to five are very close and can certainly shuffle around depending on the 2018-19 season.

What is your opinion on Sissons?

Very VERY exciting to see such QUALITY now instead of the Rod Pelley's of the world. Right, @Bleedred ?

BTW, nice to see that Bratt isn't on that list which, I hope, suggests he has the inside track on being in the Lineup next season again.
